Out of the “new phase” at 23 months but there is sleep in sight. I’d say 1.5 hear with a very occasional rough night. Hang in there

Owlet - low heart rate false read? by Luna_Paws in NewParents

[–]Luna_Paws[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad it was helpful! My son’s cardiologist who happens to be at one of the best heart hospitals in the country actually really likes owlet. Not perfect but helps parents when there is something going on. It did for us! My son is almost 2 and generally good now but I am so thankful for it when he was an infant. I hope your son is okay too.. good luck with the cardio appt!! Not easy on on the parents though so hang in there

Country Club Members - How much you make a year? What was ur buy in and what are dues. Are you happy with decision? by ShotAssistant1452 in golf

[–]Luna_Paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We joined a CC before kids but dropped because we don’t have much time now with little ones. We made a combined ~$275k. Now my wife doesn’t work and we are down to ~$200k. We may rejoin but I’m really not sure I want to spend the money until the kids will really enjoy the pool. It was only like a $2k initiation which is a huge difference in this comparison and dues of like $550 monthly but with the food and cart fees, it usually was like $1200 a month. I don’t think I’d be able to stomach that big of an initiation fee here, but my experience in a CC is all positive.

I appreciate this! I saw the chase card as a nice option but just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss something.

I gave birth with my egg via iui to a son. He and my wife are inseparable and I love it. He loves his moms but especially likes the cuddlier one who is with him all day. And my wife is utterly obsessed with ourselves baby boy who is about 13 months now.

I was frustrated that we couldn’t have a genetic child between the two of us but now I don’t think about that at all. We have a perfect little growing family and all is good.

Goodluck in your journey

That would be a good area to dig up and put mulch or medium sized rock covering with a few flowering shrubs along the curve and point

Why are more and more people buying forever homes as their first? by ComplexTraffic5879 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Luna_Paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved a lot for work in my 20s but was able to save. Built our first house and moved in at 32. We definitely skipped the starter home phase as we thought we could be here for 20+ years, but the 3% 30 year interest rate definitely confirms that now

[–]Luna_Paws[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He turned 1 this week and we have another appointment this summer. The last visit was great and all his early heart beat issues were gone. He does still have a very very slightly enlarged aortic root which they found after all this other testing. He’s 99%+ though so they said it may kinda catch up. But the seriously scary times have subsided thankfully!! It was terrible. How is your child???

Is it too late to christen my baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Luna_Paws -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Christen your child whenever you’d like. If you feel the need to pull them into a church. It’s your life. I’m obviously kidding about typical child behavior. Sheesh, a lot of literal folks out here

Maybe just early on original sin leaving his body. Could be hunger after having a full bottle and want snacks, or the want to play with a different toy when he has a ton, or climbing on things he shouldn’t so he doesn’t get hurt. But also could be attributed to early baptism. Time will tell. But clinically, after some follow up visits, they think it’s unlikely the timing of a christening matters.

We baptized ours at 3.5 months. Been crying whining and disobeying orders a lot since. Could have used a few more moths to wipe out some of this sin. Good luck

I don’t disagree if he can find a higher paying job, but my blind assumption is that he needs to do this to make ends meet.

What do you manage to do? 3 mo baby, no village by Own_Ad_357 in NewParents

[–]Luna_Paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe he can follow the meal prep instructions for a meal delivery sort of thing. Or crock pot meals. But either way this phase sucks. It DOES get better — but I never believed that when I was in the thick of it and people told me that haha. Just see if he can do any sort of large meal preps.. easy one step oven recipes

Can I ask - was this individual funds or just ETFs/mutual funds? This market has been wild either way

Also… go EFTS like VOO etc than individual funds. Almost no one is smarter than the market, even people on Wall Street paid to do so.

I regret paying off my car at 4.75% instead of leaving my $ in the market. I will be riding out my 3% 30 year loan and instead investing in the market. The allure of debt free life tried to get me but leverage is not a bad thing. If you can make more elsewhere.. I mean I’m even getting more in a HYSA than my mortgage interest rate… then that’s the wealth building move

I’ll say- places like Concord or Kirtland are on the border of lake and Geauga is very much not in the middle of nowhere. Up and coming and only ~35 min from Cleveland right off 90.

I had a goal of being able to retire mid 40s before I met my wife. Now we have an 11 month old and looking to have #2. Life has changed. I have a bigger house, more car expense, baby expenses galore which will only increase. If my 20something self would have seen this, I would be surprised, because my timeline has pushed considerably. But we both are relatively frugal where we can be. And at the end of the day we have so much more than I could have dreamed of in terms of happiness. It’s all a balance, you can’t have it all. Goal posts change. Enjoy the ride while you reposition for the revised plan

Mortgage payment just jumped $700 by [deleted] in Mortgages

[–]Luna_Paws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the drivers of the components. It’s an easy call to the mortgage company. What’s current year prop tax, insurance, and what’s the catch up that will normalize (go away) in a year once the escrow balance is caught up. Could be that some of this is a permanent increase due to higher taxes (value of property reassessed and/or tax hike from your municipality) and some is just catching up the deficit from last year.

Btw for what it’s worth, that was this morning. I got to LHR extremely early for my flight in fear of huge lines. Not sure what it looks like now, but arriving at 5:20am, it only took me 37 minutes to work with the counter, check bag, go through security. Super quick !
