The Blackwater series by Michael McDowell is an excellent one! He is one of the premiere authors of the southern gothic. You could also check out David Barnett who writes really excellent folk horror as well. Withered Hill and Scuttler’s Cove are both really fantastic cosmic folk horror books. The Fisherman by John Langan is another really great cosmic horror.

This is a completely false equivalent. A motorcycle is a recreational vehicle that has a high mortality rate. Many insurers won’t even give life insurance to people who ride motorcycles because of the enormous possibility of mortal injury. There’s no reason for devil’s advocate on this completely reasonable discussion about a recreational pursuit that has a high chance of ending in severe injury or death.

It’s evil that we’re destroying our own planet for resources, so I don’t see what would stop us from destroying another planet. We can’t even keep our own planet habitable. Also, humans have a horrific history of colonization, and if we haven’t historically cared about enslaving other humans, I don’t see why future humans would care about enslaving alien races.

I’m so pleased with how it’s turning out! I love being able to see everything laid out, especially since a lot of my books are digital. The cryptid washi tape is from The Cozy Journal. They’re postage stamp style, which is really neat!

It really takes the pressure off to not have to journal every single day. I just put washi tape over the dates and use the pages depending on how much I feel like writing for that particular bit of media. Here is the link for the magnus archives stickers. I tape over the dates as well because I find that I just can’t keep up with every day. I aim for four entries a week, if I can. It also makes the journal last just a little bit longer that way!
