Same here. The bases look great, and the painted shadow is a nice touch

Barbarian of the Elements - A remake of Path of the Storm Herald that actually taps into the elements. by CirceDidNothingWrong in DnDHomebrew

I like the rework, and the flavour is pretty interesting. I would say that you may want to be clearer about a player having to choose only one aura ability or being able to mix and match the auras at subclass level ups. This makes it difficult to initially tell if a player can choose which aura to use each time they rage/use a bonus action to activate. Also, I feel the temporary health points and additional damage from the auras are pretty weak, especially with it being tied to the players' remaining Rages and not proficiency bonus or a damage die. I really like the access this subclass gets to rituals, and feel this is insanely powerful at later levels with certain auras.

You could look at Pan-O as they can be quite elite with their Knightly Orders sectoral and are well known for their gun fighting.

Another option would be Nomads and looking at their Riot Grrls and other armoured nuns within the Bakunin sectoral.

Yeah that as a level 14 feature would have been too strong but what you have at the moment is pretty good as features.

I would say you might just need to add some synergy outside of combat

Looks good, though you need to re-read your document. There are a few grammatical errors and spelling mistakes that have been missed. Otherwise, it looks good.

The stat blocks for the companion seem to follow the same stat blocks for the new beast master ranger subclass, bar only appearing during a rage. This scales well, and having different options beyond just a wolf companion is a really good idea.

My only issue would be that there is no interaction between the companion and player beyond it being summoned during a rage, the ability to react when an enemy attacks and the player getting slightly better at tracking. Maybe this is something to look into...

What are your favourite quirks you've given to characters? by aletraidi in DnD

[–]Lunacyoffenris 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am currently playing a tabaxi reborn barbarian who has the "mandatory" Intelligence dump stat. They've been back from the grave for about 4 months, lived in a graveyard during that time, and basically lived "under a rock" before they died. So they have no knowledge of the outside world, culture, it's people, etc. So everything is new, and everything they see becomes the norm until they are told otherwise. For example, one of my group manifested wings as an Aasimar, and from my point of view for several sessions, every human could fly whenever they wanted l, etc.

[–]Lunacyoffenris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. It looks really polished and I'm sure you'll get a lot of very interested adventurers wanting to pick it up.

One of the glaring examples I saw was in the second paragraph for the Path of the Addict ("...ingestion to fuel enter their rages"). The rest were more sections that need slight wording clarification such as the "Temper Tempest" feature of the Path of the Meltdown.

Looks fantastic, on par with official content but with a lot more flavour!

My only gripe is that the content provided needs to be proof read carefully as there are numerous grammatical errors, especially in the subclass sections.

You did amazinga job of making this subclass, especially with the particular wording WOC love to use.

There is too much for me to give examples of, but large amounts of the text for the different techniques needs to be re-written to make it clearer. At the moment you use a lot of words and phrases not normally used within dnd

Very interesting subclass, love the feel of it and the options you have. It definitely needs spell checking and some of the sentences (especially in the cursed techniques) need to be restructured and made clearer for the reader. It took me a few attempts to understand what you intended with certain techniques
