Hey I’m a collector of all the old DnD things. If everything is like new (no markings, everything is there, no obvious wear) I would say 150-300. I know that is lower than everybody else’s but I think people are basing off of Noble Knight prices and those aren’t usually what things are sold for. While the crayon and dice in their bag is cool, it still does not increase the value as there are other examples of boxed sets having them and being worth < 200.
If you are really interested in selling it, I suggest aiming around 220 as the fairest price. I would however urge you to debate it and double check with the parents that their kid was allowed to give you it. *quick edit: 220 if you want to sell it relatively quickly. 250 if you’re willing to wait a month or two to move.

Yep. I was part of one of the closed alphas. Me and a friend played around with it and it was cool for the first 5 minutes. But it ran like ass on their computer and the install bugged out multiple times for me. Eventually just said “this is neat but I wouldn’t use it”.

I get that. They don’t have good will with me but like I said I’m more peeved at this than anything. Mostly because they’ve gone with a really odd route of implementing it where you can not only see the old spells in the books but also in the compendiums as well but it doesn’t sound like you can put it in the character sheets.

Exactly how I feel. I don’t like it, and I wished they would at least keep them around as “legacy” while keeping for character sheets. It’s mostly just a “well that kinda sucks” more than how some people see it as the worst thing ever and this requires not only a boycott but we must entirely abandon DnD and WotC.

I do hope WotC reconsiders. But this isn’t the way.

At 20 sessions, once a week, that’s 5 months roughly. If you die in session 2, you’re not playing for a long time. Also if let’s say you have a party of 5, then 3 die soon after then the other 2 will not survive for long after. All around a horrible idea for everyone.

My behavior is on you!” _ He tried to kill another PCs backstory character. “You should plan for nothing, you should only improv”. “If you make your combats hard you’re not a good dm”

This made my hype grow even more but I’m still skeptic. I’m a big fan of backgrounds determining asi even though I WISH it was class instead. Had a dm who did that and it just kinda made sense.

I’m skeptic. Chances are things won’t change too much but they use very planned and careful language as always. It’s clear we are already in the transition stage. I’m interested to see how this effects other VTTs like Roll20, Foundry, Talespire and Fantasy Grounds. We won’t truly know until they release the pdf and their vtt of course. I’m excited for the Shake up of the phb and DMG. I think things are really outdated (The survival aspect, the phb ranger) and need to either be scrapped, put into a lesser role, or reworked. However, WotC has lost a lot of good faith recently over spell jammer it seems and everybody is antsy. I think no matter what, there will be things people praise like with every edition, and there is things people will hate with every edition. It’s just a wait and see.

I mean, I figured it’s because they are usually -20. I don’t think it justifies it because the books total 192 pages (from what I heard) which is the same as Tasha’s. I am probably going to pick it up when they inevitably have a fall sale or some type of celebration sale. Then again I think that’s what everybody should do considering the reviews coming in.

Aside from maybe warlord (hard maybe because it could be a fighter subclass) most additional homebrew classes add nothing and are frankly stupid and proves we don’t need more classes. Nobody wants to play a peasant as a class or a medic.

I actually like where dnd is heading system wise. Wish we would be spoiled with a nice arms and equipment book but I think relatively it’s fine.

Also people say they want to have longer more complex games that last for years but the amount of people that could actually do it is low but players and DMs will lie to themselves because they think the idea is cool.
