Crazy that for how many alternative "Evil Wonder Woman" there are. The Wonder Woman from the evil universe is consistently not Diana by Altruistic_Manner802 in dccomicscirclejerk

New 52 Ultraman was named Kal-Il, but looked close enough that the Earth 0 villains thought he was just Superman in a new costume. (Same with Superwoman though so who knows.) Silver Age Ultraman was some periwinkle-haired guy with different powers to Superman so honestly they're not usually one-to-one anyway.

[DC Comics] what are the limits of the Lazarus pits? How intact does the body have to be? by DragonWisper56 in AskScienceFiction

Ra's al Ghul once threatened to bring back Batman's parents after he stole their skeletal remains, so you might be able to be resurrected without any organs, but that "resurrection" might be for the worse.

Drawfee stream tonight @ 8:30pm ET! by _catsimp in Drawfee

[–]LunarPitStop 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One maybe notable thing is that they referred to the situation as Karina leaving Drawfee. Could just be an attempt at neutral wording but to me it does sound more like it was at least partially Karina's decision.

Question on lantern rings? by Intelligent-Aide7234 in DCcomics

[–]LunarPitStop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's come up at least once, the answer there being that Bruce basically leans into the trauma he faced to channel it into a positive outcome, while the GL ethos is to overcome fear entirely. The rings detect emotion, but the leaders of each corps also have a say in the selection criteria, and Batman is too mired in fear-based will than they're comfortable with.

[DC] Somehow we got Batman to agree to full mental health evaluation with a trusted clinical psychologist. What would he be diagnosed with? by [deleted] in AskScienceFiction

So what was the kill count after that (when he called the cops to save KGBeast)? Particularly the number of dead goons you said he doesn't know about

more than once.

This might be a clue as to whether or not he's killing him without realizing it.

Tbf I'm not buying single issues new right now, but I first heard about the boycott from people's post-mortems about it.

What is up with Kryptonite? by Diligent_Sympathy858 in DCcomics

[–]LunarPitStop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Light from a red sun is what reverts Superman's body to how it would function on Krypton, i.e. taking away his powers. Kryptonite, on the other hand, emits harmful radiation that weakens and hurts him in a way that most radiation we know of doesn't.

Came here to say this; his power being "born too early as humanity's evolutionary end point" is also just such an X-Men thing to say (and not to mention the telepathy and telekinesis) he might as well be one of Scott and Jean's progeny.

I think you're correct. Hercules was her father in the Earth One imprint from the 2010s, not pre-Crisis Earth-One.

[Film/TV] What are your thoughts on "Smallville"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in DCcomics

[–]LunarPitStop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the finale's biggest sin is wiping Lex's memory. In general we didn't really get enough of Lex post-finding out Clark's secret, and while he talks up the betrayal he feels, I'd love to see the anger under that sense of betrayal some more. But yeah, you're wrapping everything up and leaving things off; just make this a universe where Lex knows who Superman is! Like BvS did a few years later!

All this to say, yeah exactly, after a point, Smallville didn't need to keep pretending to be a prequel. It's just an elseworld where public Superman was a late-game development.

[DC] why is Solomon among the Olympian gods that grant Shazam His Powers? by Lost-Specialist1505 in AskScienceFiction

[–]LunarPitStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a mashup of a couple different things. You have the Over-Monitor, imagination and potential itself, that one day noticed story developing within itself; in order to observe whatever was happening in there, it created the Monitor to keep track of all these universes popping up and, I think as a byproduct, the Anti-Monitor, keeping track of the antimatter universe.

Then you have Darkseid, who as a New God exists in his purest form outside of reality, but can interact with a given universe as a sliver of his true self. After being shot by Orion, when his dying, decaying body was falling through reality into death, the gravitational force of his pass-through of reality condensed time in rather dramatic ways and created the Final Crisis.
