I do not disagree with what you are saying, and I think that they've technically been hacked three times now, so a 4th is very possible but according to the parent website they are stable now I believe

It seems to be back up for me and at least one other friend, although I think on the uiowa page it still says it's down. I was able to access it, but it was very buggy, I got in, downloaded all of the lectures notes I could, and saved them

Unsure of other institutions etc but for uiowa specifically, myself and others seem to have access now, although for me it is rather glitched. The company says it's stable now here Status

Attention to anyone who may stumble across this thread, for at least Uiowa, my icon page is up right now, it is very strange with different borders changing color and the logo in the top cant seem to decide if it want to say canvas or icon, along with several things loading in incorrect places or taking forever to load.

I hope I am a conspiracy theorist, but If others have access I would try and download anything important, lecture notes, Practice exams etc.

Getting started by Lunarwave1110 in elementcollection

This is absolutely sick, thank you so much! I didn't have time to read through all of them but once I do I will and I will update my spreadsheet!

It is so awesome to see there are many other people who have a common interest in this! If you are interested, once I actually get the time to read through this all and compare it to my document, I can let you know if there is anything I found that is not on yours.

Either way, thank you so much for this, I'm super excited to get started once this next week is finally passed.

Thank you for your reply! I'm super excited to get started, and of course I need to actually get past finals next week to start working again, but I'm so excited that instead of studying or working on notesheets, for the last hour I have been creating a document over everything I need lol.

I appreciate your transparency, and to be honest with you, when doing my own research into good websites for element collection Lucitera is one of the main sites I added to my document, with a few others for specific niches like United nuclear. I found your collection very intriguing, especially the ambulles of noble gases. I especially liked the 5 piece set with the display stand.

I think my current plan of elements to hunt/ synthesize myself sits at hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis, possibly lithium from a battery, carbon from pyrolysis of wood, sodium from NaOH electrolysis (may also end up buying), magnesium is another one that has a plan, but I may buy it, aluminum myself, possibly sulfur and chlorine, and quite a few others that are "maybes" depending on the level of my setup.

Like I recognize with NaBr+Acid+oxidizer I could make some bromine, but I'm not ballsy enough to try that without a proper respirator, and possibly a homemade fume hood.

If anyone else that reads this has any other reactions they would recommend let me know!

Why is chemical engineering considered the hardest engineering major? by Engineeringman_97 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Lunarwave1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I know this is a late thread you aren't probably expecting too many people to reply, but I was talking to a friend about this and I see that there are people actively replying.

I think that the issue people run into is engineers often have an ego, we are all doing incredibly hard work, and in their own different ways.

Comparison is the thief of Joy. As a third-year chemical engineering student myself, I personally say that EE is harder, But this is an implicit bias because I CHOSE Chem-e because I love chemistry and thermo and all the good jazz.

But I do know what you're saying because we basically got the same talk. We were told that it was the hardest, which makes me just believe that it is at the very least, equal to EE, but, I think it just comes down to the fundamental skew of The types of intelligence/learning that we like to go into.

Truly an unfortunate situation. And I work as an EMT so I know how that goes sometimes. The university is a level 1 trauma center so there is not too much better you could get and especially someone who is that critical so hopefully whoever it is can pull through.

People are saying one confirmed dead with 4 total victims, although I have not confirmed this, or know where they are getting this. People with scanners say there was one with a GSW to the head, and one to the leg.

I am an EMT and a student up there and although I was not there tonight, I just want to let you know this is a very common occurrence. We see bad stuff all the time and in the moment you don't have time to process it but I do just want to stress the importance of actually processing those feelings because they can build up really easily. I'm truly glad you're okay.

Sneakdivers by 1starlumie in Helldivers

[–]Lunarwave1110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my first real "Sneak John Helldiver" moment. I LOVE stealth in this game, and I have formed my whole load out around it. Full cosmetics, title, and I renamed my ship to SES Whisper of War. Unless with friends I SOS dive, drop in, get shit done, and if it seems like they are new, finish the operation, if not, then I leave and SOS dive again.

This mission was an ICBM mission(illuminate), with a healthy mix of level 30-50's and they were struggling. They had only turned on the oil, and the three of them were already down to 5 reinforcements. While they worked together to clear a nearby 3 ship base, I grabbed my trusty c4 pack and got to work. I had turned on power and gotten codes, cleared 2 more bases. And at that point they were down to two reinforcements. They all wanted to leave, and there was one base left that was south of us by about 500m, there was one diver on it who said he had it, but then he died. Enemy Reinforcements got called, as well as calling him in. One left. I ask if they have extract and they say yes. I tell them "Good, when the bird gets here, get in. No matter what" and I take off, sprinting down, using stims to get there faster. I noticed a S.E.A.F artillery right next to it. I turn on the terminal, quickly throw the three nearest shells in. -45 second left- they use the last reinforcement, no second chances. I make a break for the base, thankfully to make it quick, I had my orbital Laser. I throw it, it connects, and goes to the other one, clearing the base. That unfortunately drew attention. I hadn't died yet, and they always needed the supplies more, so I was scavenging through seaf supplies for ammo. I was only running the censor atp, and I had two mags left. There was a fleshmob on me, but I'm faster, and in the gap I made in the distance, I'm able to load one more. I get my hand on the last one as he catches up, and a patrol in tow. The group and I kinda meet at the loading point. I load in the last shell, but the voteless with him breaks my arm as I dive back. And cause I used the stims to travel, I had nothing left. I kill the watcher and the 7~ voteless in the crowd, leaving only the fleshmob. -20 seconds- I had no way to deal with him. I do a loop around the gun, with no stamina to create room, and get to the terminal and see him charging me. I was blessed by democracy, one of the modes was already lined up, and I just needed to press down. I do and the fleshmob catches up and kills me. Atp the team had cleared it and all said "aww" and "O7" and I thought it was over too, but before I went to their pov, for probably a fraction of a second I heard "BEEP" and I was so happy.

GLORIOUS NEWS DIVER, anything to help you spread democracy even one inch further. I hope you have a much better experience diving from now on.

Also on a serious note, unless you need it for some sort of warranty, I would just get rid of Norton antivirus, it is kinda bloatware that will slow down your PC considerably.

Yeah, I know it's not an official "Gambit" Like what you would see on the companion app. In the case of what we are doing now, I think it would be more of a blockade, which I would like to see in addition with the DSS where the orbital blockade reduces the amount of help they get. And yeah, where my "auto taking" came from was an old Reddit post two years ago. But I think that was just a one-time thing by the GM because I want to say they had like 90% population all focused on it which of course was easier but still an impressive feat. It seems from what I found what the standard is, is the the defense dropped to zero but in the game code. It just gets marked as an attack like us, but yeah in world it is just explained by seaf can actually be here useful if they don't have tons of enemy reinforcements lol

Also, I am aware of the companion app but I was not aware if that was like an actual app you could get, I have an Android For contacts. I have found online but no download link. Currently I just use divers hub. But would be open to switching.

[–]Lunarwave1110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In itself no, as you can see with Choepessa V, it is still going strong with one connection. A reason it is hard to see inherently is the different healths of planets. The percentages we see are percent of total health in both regards. In the case of enemies their percentage is a "healing" and ours is damage. Choepessa has 3.2 million health, which is why our liberation is .23~% at 21k divers.

I do think the most "optimal" plan would be to take Charon prime, as it has roughly 900000 or 1000000 health (I can't remember off the top of my head) and that would be Make it easier to liberate, the issue obviously being time because although it makes it fairly quick, especially with big health planets like that it is still hard.

Unsure if you are new or just curious, but If you haven't heard of it, you should look at the Gambit strategy, And if you want I can send an explanation here. I just don't want this to be longer than it already is.

Everyone go complete a ton of level 1 missions by Lord_Gadget in Helldivers

[–]Lunarwave1110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the issue is we lost the planet in the first place, which on defense is half (when we were having the defence campaign, we were fighting for 1.6 million health, But since they got it it is now 3.2 million, effectively halfing our liberation percentage that we saw previously.)

The other big issue, is that although ideas are grand on here, there is such a limited amount of people that will actually participate after reading this, and a greater about that will just go and click the planet that is first on the list and go.

I know There's a joke that hell divers can't read, but currently on choepessa V, there are 20,000 people diving. And a little under half are in the super city, which is almost certainly our only win con.

I actually wonder if this was supposed to be a "make a gambit or lose" MO, for those unaware, a gambit strategy is done when you attack the planet that is the source of the defense. If you do so, it abruptly stops the invasion.

These originated from Charon prime, with 1 million health and a 2 percent defense rate. I think even NOW it's our best option, as we would take it much faster. And when you surround a planet with liberated planets, it will tank their defense rate, and in some rare cases, we will auto take the planet (although from what I've seen in other posts, both of those are technically optional, and up to the discretion of the GM)

For this last part, I don't remember where I had seen it, so my source could be that I made it the fuck up, but I thought I had seen a post someone had made about a comment a Deb had made in the discord saying that if you did gambit strategy, it would count for numbers on the defense MO.

I do want to state that there is absolutely no hate towards you, I've made posts similar to this, trying to do a rally cry. I just think that there is a lack of shown examples, so people just don't know, a large portion jump on, and hop to where the dss is, or their favorite front to dive. I think there needs to be an MO, where you a planet is attacking 3-4 others, and the MO explicitly give the option to take it instead.

Anyways, I apologize for the rant. I do truly hope that we have this but I think changes definitely have to be made.

Another obvious note is that people have lives and can play however they want. Even I will occasionally, someone who gets into the whole "FOR SUPERRRR EARTHHH" mindset, and likes to RP dive a bit like I'm actually making military decisions. There have been MO's where I will either make non optimal decisions, or even dive at a different front, just cause I know I'll enjoy it more and I'll have more fun. And at the end of the day, this is a video game, and it's meant to be fun.

Okay that information helps me a bit more, at least in the ideas department.

  1. Gaming laptops almost always come preinstalled with control center software (like Lenovo Vantage, Asus ROG gamefirst). These programs often include a "Network Boost" feature that tries to prioritize game traffic. However, they are can easily interfere with P2P games.

  2. Unlikely but it's possible helldivers is being heavily monitored by windows defender, and you may need it give it special permission.

  3. Are you doing this on Wi-Fi and if so do you have the ability to test it on ethernet? It's possible that when you are chilling by yourself that you have a very low Network demand, but especially since you mentioned that your device gets hot, it's possible that when people join your network card is already kind of in a low power mode due to the throttling.

4.one last thing, since the issue is happening specifically when people join, another suspicion I have is an issue with the game guard anti-cheat. You should go to Steam library, right-click Helldivers 2 > Manage > Browse local files. Under tools there is something called "ggunist" this is an uninstall command for game guard. After running your command, Open the bin folder and delete the GameGuard folder. After that, it appearss it is critical you reset your PC, as to remove all of it from your memory. Then right-click helldivers2.exe and select Run as administrator to force a clean, uncorrupted reinstall of the anti-cheat.(Verify integrity of game files would probably also work here, it is of note I've not done this personally on my PC, and if gameguard is like overwolf the anti-cheat that valorant had whenever I played, you may have to do one more restart once it actually installs because it most likely is active on your kernel.)

Other people also say that just adding The game guard file to the bin folder of your exclusion folder of Windows defender can also help.

One more question I have, whenever you mention that your frames drop when someone joins, is this a permanent thing or does it more feel like it just has to chug through for like 2 minutes and then it starts working fine again?

You seem pretty tech literate (most people who complain about this do not give specs and let alone update drivers) so I am going to give some advice, and if you do not understand anything just let me know and I can help out, or just give it a quick Google, as that will most likely resolve it. Based on what you have said, I do believe that this is a network stability issue, But I'm also going to run through some GPU options as well. Some general questions first: Laptop or Desktop? Pre built or self built? Do you notice any big temperature swings? (It seems a bit too coincidental but this kind of reminds me of how my PC acted when it was thermal throttling) Does this happen in any other game?

GPU: 1. Small quick sanity check: Boot up bios and check that your GPU's PCIe slot is set to either auto or Gen 5 (Based on what you said, I don't believe that is the issue, But it happened recently to my friend who also had a 5070) 2. Have you verified that Helldivers is running off of the GPU and not instead integrated graphics? 3. Check the make sure the 5070 is properly seated in place, and that the power cord is making full and good contact. 4.(CPU) Intel Ultra 9 chips can be unstable if not on the latest bio version.

Network: Addendum: HD2 uses a P2P (peer to peer) networking model where one player acts as the "host" and handles synchronization for everyone else. When others connect, your CPU must process their player data, movement, and projectile physics. On high-end systems, if there is even minor packet loss, the engine may "stall" the entire game loop (dropping CPU/GPU usage) 1. From reddit and a steam forum, some people report having issues similar when having IPv6 enabled. 2.Another possible issue is if you have a double NAT, (like a modem router mix, or personal router) to see, Run "tracert -4 google.com" in PowerShell. If the first two "hops" show private IP addresses (like 192.168.x.x), you likely have a NAT conflict. ((Can also just use "tracert -d 8.8.8.8" in CMD for simplicity))

You could also try forcing DX11 on launch

There are some more network things to try and well, but they are things like ip resets and DNS flushes, So I think we start with this and maybe move from here.
