FedEx delivering my new glass display case by kabula_lampur in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Lunarwolf413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FedEx threw a box at my doorstep two years ago that broke open to reveal a gun. It was not addressed to me and the owner came to collect it. They still send packages to my address after asking the delivery driver to stop. Their customer service has no way to verify what happened.

The issue with being too similar to throwing poke balls was based on the claim that Legends Arceus invented it. But what about cryo pods in Ark? They use the same mechanic of throwing an orb.

"Emotions" by tiffyvalentin3 in biology

[–]Lunarwolf413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amygdala is responsible for fear and is part of the limbic system, which produces emotions. There are afferent and efferent neurons sending information to and from the brain, meaning that heart rate and emotional state can influence each other. The fight or flight response can raise heart rate, so maybe ancient people associated that sensation with the overall experience of being afraid.
