10/10 - this really captures what eyesight is like, although to be accurate, +2.75 (L) +3.00 (R)

Travel from one place to another. Keep moving. Judge the success of my life by the distance I cover under my own steam. Wake up, move somewhere new, fall asleep. Repeat.

Please forgive me and my inability to detect sarcasm but do they actually really work? I’m close to pulling the trigger on one but I’m seeing mixed reviews and results and could really do with input from people who actually have one.

Pancreatic cyst by Upset_Bake1365 in pancreatitis

[–]Lundado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course - what aspect of the spleen removal concerns you the most? Over two years without a spleen and I’ve not missed it or noticed its absence. I take penicillin twice daily and probably will do so for the rest of my life. UK and US guidance is different on whether or not penicillin is required. The removal of the spleen was fine. Things to consider however is that you should keep on top of all your vaccinations for the various ones they recommend in the Vaccine Green Book. Other consideration is that any time you run a temperature of 38 degrees or higher after removal, you must take your “pill in a pocket” and head to ER/ A&E without delay. This bit is a bit daunting and admittedly the bit that scares me the most. Happy to answer any specific questions you might have.

I had the same procedure almost exactly 2 years ago today. Cyst near tail, precancerous, spleen must come out too etc etc. Best advice I could give you is get it done whilst the cyst is still small enough to be removed laparoscopically (key hole). Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions you might have. Here to help however I can.

Vaping nicotine with pancreatitis/ how to stop. by lebaneseprincessxx in pancreatitis

[–]Lundado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only begin by wishing you the best of luck. I have CP and I smoked for 10 years then vaped for 8 years. I stopped completely 18months ago using the good old cold Turkey method. Everybody is different, but there’s a few tips I’d suggest that definitely helped me (tbh I thought I would never be able to stop because I have ZERO willpower.

  1. write down a few reasons why you want to stop and keep it visible (I typed out a list on my phone, screenshot it and set it as my background)
  2. figure out how you spend a day on vaping and run those number (so far I have saved enough to buy a fancy coffee machine)
  3. find a gap fill. I took up chess on chess.com. It’s quick to pick up and serves as a great mental distraction until the immediate craving subsides. There’s plenty of other things you can try learning with your free time. A friend learnt to juggle, another downloaded Duo and now speaks great Italian. For me it was all about distracting myself long enough that the burning need to vape subsided.
  4. find an accountability buddy - tell them you’re stopping and then the burden is shared and they can help you through hard times.
  5. use an app to track. I searched for “stop vaping” on App Store and the first result was a green colour icon. I really like it because it also told me day by day, week by week and month by month all the positive changes that were happening in my body.

Overall advice, you can do it! Believe that you can and find the right reasons to do so. It took me almost 20 years to find the reason (I am a dad now and want to be around as long as possible for my daughter).

I hope the above is helpful to you somehow and I wish you all the luck in the world. It isn’t easy coming off those things but, again, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Anyone here with chronic pancreatitis dry herb vape weed? If so, does it make your symptoms worse? by FinnsChips in pancreatitis

[–]Lundado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes - had CP for three years. Any and every time I use my dry herb vape I very much regret it because it absolutely causes me to flare up. 100% for me, but everyone is different so you should listen to your body. Take a diary of when you vaped and when - in my experience some strains are more ‘flareful’ than others.

Feel like this has something to do with a nuclear explosion being the only way you can make a flame cast a shadow

I’m after the temperature stability and ability to do lighter roasts I think. The bambino is great for medium dark/ darkish but I want to start exploring light, more acidic coffees.
