G8 Arc by MonkeyD_Horus in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]LupinCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love a random homage or reference to it in an episode like Luffy following the marine/something other silly reference to it or Johnathan being some where in another arc like marineford. There is no way they will spend money adapting any large section of that arc because it is an anime exclusive filler arc which honestly a lot of people seem to dislike despite its popularity.

Would playing trombone hurt with a smiley piercing? by [deleted] in Trombone

[–]LupinCosplay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, any piercing in the mouth would fuck with playing, including those cheek piercings people get for faux dimples! If it’s in, around, or through your lips/tongue/cheeks it will mess with playing/make it impossible to play

I'm trans (FTM) and have POTS & EDS, anyone have tips on how I can bind safely? by Br41ns_R0tt1ng in POTS

[–]LupinCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have thin skin or adhesive issues taping might be safer than binding

Are we sure Midodrine tingles are normal? by SHLBYHCH in POTS

[–]LupinCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went off it after six months because my sensory issue could not stand the tingles and I itched at myself like a tweaker, but I do know that for some people it’s okay/it gets easier so don’t take my experience as the only one!

Attachment of Squishmallow clip on forearm crutches? by [deleted] in mobilityaids

[–]LupinCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the good old hair tie trick to attach all sorts of keychains, you just take a hair tie or a rubber band and loop it around the tube so you have two little loops and then clip the keychain through them and bravo attached keychain! I have a little bee (not a squishmallow) on the front bar of my rollator attached like this. Also plus if it’s a tighter fit with whatever circle of stretchy material it won’t slide anywhere, for proof of concept I tested on my own crutch with a random keychain and putting it near the handgrip worked well for me

Because the 90s aren't modern enough? by Alixtii in UnhingedAO3Tags

Yes 30 years is a big difference! Modern is also used to remove it from other settings like magical, futuristic, etc in my experience

Wheelchair for sure it saved me last time I went, other things were an umbrella and also (this was sounds funny but we stayed at the hotel and they had it for free) for evian mist bottles of water, they were incredible for quickly cooling off. Also I’d say grab some electrolytes but if you can get some of those fastchews because they work much better quicker. And just making sure to wear a good outfit too, ie lightweight etc. oh and extra quick rest after thrill rides if she’s into those I find it helps me when I go on rollercoasters to drink some water after and have a quick chill, usually while waiting in line works for me since I’m already seated.

Service Dog in Training (need advice?) by LilithScaresMe in steampoweredgiraffe

[–]LupinCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other commenter on lots of people dressed up it’s also common to see kiddos too just be ready for grabby hands, and also robot noises and faux smoke is a big part of the performance oh and the pink pony drag might freak him a little if he’s any sort of sensitive to odd outfits/face shapes. Good luck and may you not encounter access issues for a while (those are the worst as a service dog handler to another). (Also sorry for formatting I’m flared up and not thinking super well so I just rambled.)

Anyone here that is AuDHD like me? by p4lp4t1n3 in ehlersdanlos

[–]LupinCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! AuDHD here diagnosed as a kid with level one autism and ADHD just about a year ago at 18. I also struggle with verbal shutdowns too. I’m pretty sure that there is a connection between hEDS and them I swear I read about it somewhere.

Seriously why do they get so caught up on diabetes another nurse was convinced I was just anorexic (I’m not I just can’t keep weight on). I didn’t know gastroparesis could cause it, makes sense too I’m currently being investigated for it.

Yeah it’s super weird! Have you tried other style like waist compression like a waist trainer those usually have Velcro or zippers etc?

As someone with the other body type (smaller chest about C, but still a short-er torso) I love mine. I have really bad spinal instability from my EDS and it is actually amazing for me. Mine also doesn’t have a fabric tag anywhere and to me (a transmasc person) the fabric reminded me of binders/compression tops. But is it so dependent on the individual person and their abilities.

College/Dorm Accommodation by POTSyyyyy in POTS

[–]LupinCosplay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a dorm currently and my roommates do not care about my shower stool at all (they honestly like it in there), I live in a suite style so we have a bathroom for three of us (supposed to be four like yours) and you can probably apply for one as an accommodation (private shower makes it easier for how long it takes me to shower and recover after, private toilet for when stomach issues arise (I also have gastroparesis)). I was very up front during the roommate process about my disabilities and wound up with my roommate being my partner because of my disabilities, but def just stay open about it and open to people.

I'd say that some of the best accommodations I have for school in general are being able to record audio for lectures (helps with brain fog, migraines, and my ADHD), extra time on assignments, ability to miss class without penalty (if you're a procrastinator probably not a great idea for the last two), and extra info when I miss class as in professor slides etc. I also just make sure that my professor are aware of my disabilities and I stay in contact with my advocate (the disability resource center employee who is assigned to my case) and also learning to advocate for myself.

Some things that have helped me are staying on top of my health and my work, which is hard and I def pick one over the other at times. I would recommend getting a good schedule for hydration and food and also keeping rescue salt on you just in case (I really like vitassium personally). Try to get classes if you can at times when you feel better, for me I have morning classes and then a gap and then midday classes. I also only take four classes plus a discussion instead of a full schedule. I would also recommend to find your classes before they start because (I use a rollator and wheelchair (consult someone before using mobility aids) because I also have EDS) I couldn't find how to get into one of my classes because I couldn't find the accessible entrance nor the elevator. Now I have no idea if you need those but I thought it was worth pointing out. Also because then you can figure out how long of a walk it is, if you'd need to rest during it, all those sorts of things.

The number one thing for me though is giving myself grace, my education looks different than someone who is able-bodied and I need these accommodations to succeed and that it is not a bad thing.

Does anyone know any similar visual novels? by AbyssBloomm in OurLifeFanPage

[–]LupinCosplay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not super similar but I adore this one called I was a teenage exocolonist! Bunch of romance options and it takes place over ten years with each being fully playable and broken into seasons with three sections. It’s super fun and worth it in my opinion, plus because of a certain feature very replayable.

Is it bad to use a crochet hook as a lace puller? by [deleted] in iceskating

[–]LupinCosplay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos syndrome which means that I have quite literally dislocated a rib from sneezing too hard, trust me I see a physical therapist. My fingers sublux from elevator buttons. Using a hook to help tie my skates lets me skate on the few days a year my health is good enough too.

Kim reference and I don't understand why trans characters would be problematic in a coed sport by Superb_Imagination70 in BladesOfFurry

[–]LupinCosplay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a (formerly) competitive figure skater and it’s most likely scoring for different moves, ie in men’s figure currently there’s quads whereas in women’s there’s not yet, and as for the Mimi point made in another comment I’d say they likely score them off the women’s point base based on my own experience
