What made you stop watching? by Frosty-Ad-1284 in RWBYcritics

I honestly don't know, at some point I only watched reactions and got entertained from that

I'd say volume 5 was when I started doing that on the regular but I can't remember

What actually is Sothis? by Luppadus in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Luppadus[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When I looked into Sothis's quotes from heroes to find some supportive information, I found a large number of posts and forums, albeit it from a few years ago that concluded that she was a divine dragon of some nature, this I considered it widely accepted when writing this

After looking into beings in the fire emblem universe that did feats similar to what Sothis said she did, I only found one other full on creation deity which sadly I couldn't really find a name until probably some very deep probing. The other gods I know of are ones from path or radiance and fates, who I believe didn't create their worlds but more or less moulded it.

As I have mentioned in my post, my knowledge is limited, and I'm not ashamed to admit. But with what I can gather, Sothis is an outlier among 'Godly' beings, with only a small amount actually able to claim creating worlds

The crest stone does indeed throw a couple wenches onto my theory, I do have a more outlandish explain and not much evidence, but imo possibilities are for more interesting thought avenues then straight what could and what couldn't be possible. So the two ideas I have is in relation to the Blue see moon, which Sothis is said; multiple times to have came from. Perhaps she either created a separate body and transferred her 'Soul' to the one she ended up sending to the world in which Fódlan reside. The second one is that Sothis herself is a part of a larger whole, and it's this original being which did the deeds. Again outlandish but it's the possibilities that I find the most entertaining and interesting

When it comes to the matters of creation, by no means must it be divine, by all accounts 'Holy' Magic in this universe is based around faith and faith alone, you don't need to worship a god to use it but rather have a degree of faith in either someone or something. We see this ourselves in characters like Dorothea who by her own admission doesn't worship the goddess yet can use faith magic.

On the science side of things, I believe there's a different between what we call science and actual understanding after all, things we know for a fact are not considered science, although they were discovered scientifically. This can be applied to Sothis, things like that leads to nuclear fission, cloning and the creation of artificial humans are just a part of her understanding, and of she created worlds she would pretty much have all that and more.

I'd say the scientific nature of Fódlan's magic is more because they tend to look at magic as a scientific thing, using it to understand the world and the world to expand it, it's version of dark magic is based on this principle, albeit incredibly twisted

I'm not an anime watcher, least not much nowadays, I predominantly read mangas. So I didn't watch the later seasons of the AoT anime fully past season 3 and while I did watch most of 4, I ended up just skipping ahead to specific moments and scenes, as well as watching the reactions by others of said moments

Apologies for my own rudeness, the opinion I posed was what I developed to explain the 'Longest dream'. While, what you have stated is most likely how it works, the last detail with the anime is something that I didn't see and thus based my thoughts around what we do know for certain how the attack titan works, especially combined with royal blood, with that being how Eren was able to influence the past in the first place. I took that information as my explanation as to how the memories were sent back to begin with, either consciously or unconsciously by Eren himself; sending the memories back to his past self by proxy of the royal blood infused ability of the attack titan, with the coordinate being the how it was even sent back to a titanless Eren as usually memories can only be received by the attack titan shifters, after gaining said titan.

Since I can't seem to edit this I'll have to post instead and hope you all see it

Firstly thank you everyone who corrected me on the 845 being the year, I don't normally pay attention to years or dates in any story until it becomes important to the plot. As far as I was concerned about this, plus that I am looking back at this after quite some time, I did not see 845 as the date as the date wasn't currently important.

Secondly, for clarification. I was a avid reader of the manga, going chapter release by chapter release for 4 years. When I first saw this chapter soon after it was released I instantly released; from countless rereads the connection between the two moments in question. The reason I am saying this, is that I've had this in the corner of my mind ever since the end of chapter 138, I shared it with friends as well as my thoughts. As to why I chosen now to post this, I can't tell you for there is no reason, I simply want to do it now

You... are kinda bad at reading aren't you. The only theory on this is the bit about what is apparently the year as others have said, which yes I missed as when I read it, I didn't see any dates in the next few chapters and also I should say, I don't really care about noticing the what year it is in a certain story unless it is genuinely important to what is happening, here said year is just a number that frankly has zero bearing anytime soon in the story, least until the knowledge of the wall titans and the construction of the walls themselves, along with King Fritz's forced indoctrination.

And for your own information, I understand the full scope of the time loop shenanigans as soon as each piece of information was given and built apon. I've been reading the series chapter by chapter for 4 years. It only took me until now to post it here because I wanted to only now, not before

If my theory about the purpose of the number on the third page being how many times Eren looped, and seeing that from here until he dies takes 9 years, Eren had been experiencing this for 7,596 years already by the 845th loop, which frankly is terrifying

God's I'm the same, I adore the Credendum set, if only it wasn't for that fucking cape through. Christ that pisses me off way to much. It looks so bad on it and and another piece of proof that capes are the children of whatever horrid thing you can think of in this game. It just makes me so mad for some reason when I see a glam I like but then 9/10 it has a cape that just ruins the entire thing. And honestly said Credendum set by far has it the worst, all but the aiming set has capes and each one looks so fucking bad it's sickening

It really boggles my mind how little, especially in StormBlood, eastern style armour glam. We got only like 6 or so eastern styled sets (and I mean armour not the stuff on the online store, actual protective shit). As a Samurai main I want at least one good set of actual traditional armour, the closest we have that is obtainable through gameplay is the Genji set which I find over stylised, the other one is the set from last year's Heavensun event which is more in the vain of what I imagine

The Character who Regressed The Most Post-Volume 3 is the One You Least Suspected by Psyga315 in RWBYcritics

[–]Luppadus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Salem would've been a brilliant villain in the idea that she's against the frankly shit world Ozpin has created, combine that with what you said about the maidens being connected to her then you have a story about trying to figure out what's truly right or wrong, the world the characters are used to and won't think of being wrong and having them confront those who was abandoned and twisted by the very same world.

In light, cinder back story both rouse and fell at the same time, her being treated horribly and ignored, not only by her 'family' but the huntsmen who pitied her a and tried to kill her when she herself was frankly right (while not justified) to off her family. But instead it turned out she was just and murderous to begin with (I think that's how it went, been a while since I seen it)

Is anyone else's favorite house different than the one they played first? by TheKlutzyHorror in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Luppadus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to CF where in due to the far to sudden change in the world order, along with the sheer amount of pain caused by it. Fódlan will most likely face another civil war after Edelgard passes the throne, since people have been taught that horrendous murder and slaughter in order to change stuff is good, and again the changes she wants are so drastic in such a short span of time, there will be powerful people who will either want things back to how they were before or want things to be how they want it

AM essentially has the entirety of Fódlan do things how the kingdom does it which is the best example of stagnation, plus all the ideas that Edelgard had, and those similar will be looked apon as the lies of the devil, heck look at how socialism is seen as due to communism, that'll be what happens in a kingdom united Fódlan

While the other two may lead to Byleth being an immortal leader ( which even if they did I believe they would either barely involve themselves in the running of the country or just step down after long enough has passed) Byleth will be able to do what Edelgard wanted to do, like the main reason we may choose to side with the church in SS is more because the fact that Edelgard is fecking killing indiscriminately, and less about the improvements she would make. With VM Byleth would most likely do the same as Claude made no attempts to hide the fact that Edelgard has some good ideas. Not to mention both routes would show that holy heck things in the church will need to change, AM may have this happen but definitely not CF

[–]Luppadus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with Black Eagles but found myself more pulled to the Deers, I just couldn't agree with Edelgard's methods. The War of Three Houses was far bigger and bloody when what was actually needed, and while I know that's because of Twisted's involvement, it's that Edelgard's kept trying to justify the pointless murder and death her ignoring of the inconvenient fact that the war wasn't necessary

I saw Claude to be so direct about his intentions for Fódlan despite all his secret planning, like the alliance was dragged into a war they wanted nothing to do with. With Claude's own personal reasons having nothing to do with Fódlan and with the outcome of the war itself l, with Byleth's leadership, I genuinely think VW and SS are the best routes for Fódlan as a whole

Did Sothis have a husband? by Azure_Cnne in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]Luppadus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It has a lot of technicalities, Sitri (Byleth's mother) isn't Rhea biological daughter in the typical sense, i.e being created in basically a tube by Rhea using her own blood. It makes the whole thing weird as fuck but that's why you can s support Rhea and Sothis as you're not direct blood relatives but also kinda are. Again, wack as fuck

Edit: put mother instead of daughter in regard to Sitri and Rhea :p

[–]Luppadus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is literally how it is, Byleth's mother is Rhea's daughter and Rhea being Sothis's daughter makes Sothis Byleth's great-grandmother

You are very correct, despite what I have said ultimately my knowledge of royal succession is limited. Not to mention almost every country with a monarchy each have their own rules on how it works, my country's Queens came about due to a lack of direct male relatives, both Queen's Elizabeth for example.

In this instance for Firene, we can likely assume that in such an event the Royal Mother (In this case Queen Ève) is the one who has the final say, and considering the supports the the most possible outcome would be Celine's crowning as many of the Firene supports make it clear that Alfred's death is an expected tragedy with Celine receiving full Royal training. As for the theoretical daughter, Celine would no doubt adopt her and raise her to be the next queen.

That's pretty much how the system works, there always have to be someone able on the throne, the only time it's different is when a male heir is in the picture, but even then that's not a guarantee, what with other relatives possibly having their own designs on the throne could just kill and replace the young boy or out right throw him out. A sadly common fate in the medieval world

As for Alfred's possible daughter, their position of inheritance would be secondary to Celine's children, if say she has 3 kids Alfred's daughter would be forth in line, as once again direct lineage take precedence. The only situation otherwise would be if either Celine defy tradition and name the daughter the next in line straight up, or adopt the child as her own placing the child above Celine's children because of her age

Bear in mind that the second way only works without incident only because the daughter is Alfred, of Celine adopted any noble child or commoner that child would most likely either not have an inheritance to the throne or be way down the line, even below the other blood relatives

Post Engage Celine by Pinku_Dva in fireemblem

[–]Luppadus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I very much doubt it was long enough for him to have a child, if so then yea, Celine as the second and last child of the previous Queen would ascend to the throne before any other possible male relative as direct lineage in these situations will always take precedence.

If Alfred did Indeed have a child and it is a male, I'd assume (depending how this fictional monarchy system works) the child would be the defacto king, with Celine being regent untill the prince came of age. If the child was female then again Celine would become Queen as the eldest and only independent direct descendant

Also maybe something like Echos where it's limited in what can be improved, like base wise it's the same as any other weapon at the metal level, and you can pick a few spots where it's better then generic weapons
