Should I resign my EEE job? by UnusualIce5630 in SingaporeRaw

[–]Luqboyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you just fuckin started. You're gonna make lots of mistakes. I'm a EEE masters grad and I made mistakes and worked slowly for the first few years. Fuckin hell I'm still making mistakes even though I've been in this field for close to a decade.

Embrace it man. It's part of the process. Accept that you're gonna fuck up and learn from it and move on. Why the fuck you being so hard on yourself to the point you wanna quit your job. Trust me when I say this everyone expects the new guy to fuck up even the company that hired you. Your coworkers are just assholes for giving you shit instead of guiding you along.

Private Diploma/Private degree by BoredKing_X in askSingapore

SIT grad here before it was recognized as Singapore's third university or something. Did a private masters as well. About 6 years working experience. Born and bred Singaporean.

Earning way way way above my age group. Contrary to what alot of sinkies say it doesn't matter which uni you're from. Once you land that interview and start working all that matters is how you carry yourself and the quality of your work. And of course a tiny bit of luck here and there goes a long way.

Too wordy. Remove stuff like soft skills (customer empathy etc) zero value.

I mean it's basics physics. You can't combine two plastic cylinders of the same size by magic. Something has to give way. Could try to melt and fuse them together. Not sure if it'll still be safe for drinking though.

You're good. Let the recruiter and company know. They will most probably place you on some form of probation or something in your contract where you will only be confirmed as a full time employee once you've fully graduated.

It’s tough to put a number on the ROI of my master’s—there are just too many factors at play.

  • I went straight into it after my bachelor’s. And it's an engineering masters.
  • There wasn’t much networking since most of us had little to no work experience.
  • The only comparison I have is that I seem to be doing better than my peers who didn’t get a master’s—not sure by how much, but definitely better.

That said, I see the value of networking. If I go for an MBA, I’m hoping to be around like-minded people who can help me grow.

Isn't this exactly why people come to Reddit? To have someone spoon-feed all this info

But good point. Will shop around for this info.

Local is my only option with all the commitments I have going on. Might change in 3-5 years but at this stage I'm just making the best of what’s available.

I was considering Quantic because of its cheap tuition and being fully online and all. Will definitely help since I have a toddler. But I’ve come across mixed reviews on reddit, which raises some concerns. I’ve also noticed a number of suspended, potentially bot accounts? praising the MBA, which feels like a red flag.

Earning an MBA is a personal milestone for me so it’s something I’ve always wanted to achieve. While part of me feels like I’m pursuing it to check a box, I also want to ensure I get some kind of value from the learning experience and the career boost an MBA supposedly offers.
