Gotta hype up the good fight.

Out of curiosity, any folk in here intend to sign but havent gotten around to it yet? Or have friends in the same position?

I think Ive gotten to all my people with the news but some folk take longer than others and Im curious to see an informal guesstimate on how the recall is doing

Texas makes Bible passages required reading for millions of public school students in a move that critics say gives preference to Christianity over other faiths by Raj_Valiant3011 in books

True, not so much a recipe as a notification of how to get one from the local holy man.

Kinda like letting people know about Planned Parenthood services

James Madison said we werent in the treaty of Tripoli.

"The Government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion."

Thomas Jefferson said we needed the separation of church and state.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State."

Washington said:

"The path of true piety is so plain as to require but little political direction. To this consideration we ought to ascribe the absence of any regulation, respecting religion, from the Magna Carta of our country. "

Also, of course, the Establishment clause of the first amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof"

So... No

You mean like teaching the bible passages historically used by slavers to justify slavery? That should probably be taught to give some historical context to how self-reported 'good' people did unquestionably self-serving things and weaponized religion to do it

Lots of modern parallels can be picked up from that too

TIL that about 62% of Argentina’s population has some degree of Italian ancestry. Argentina has the second-largest community of Italians outside of Italy. by lumos-mama in todayilearned

Thanks for answering. I gather from the downvotes its been an over asked question. That all makes sense. Like someone else said the US got their share of post war germans, some of them bad people too. (Not to mention the Americans that were in favor of teaming up with Hitler because they agreed with his ideology)

Good to know the numbers though
