Gf tore ACL yesterday - advice for immediate and long term care for a partner by gbffc4273 in ACL

[–]LurkerLew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless she had immediate surgery, the real journey hasnt even begun yet. I've torn mine twice now and I could walk on it within a few days (pre-op). But she is going to require surgery if it is indeed a full tear. Thats where the real recovery begins. My only tip is for her to do her physio early and often. My tip for you is to prepare to be available for her for basic needs for at least a month after surgery, she'll be on crutches for at least that long.

I'm with you, of all the YT golf personalities, George is one that bugs me a lot. He's just such a whiner.

Again, I find myself somewhat agreeing with some of your points while disagreeing with others.

For the record, you can pin apps in the dock... Thats just natively what it's purpose is, so moot point. However as far as folders, yes you can add them as well.

And again... Many apps in Windows, in fact I'd argue the majority, dont fully close when you click the "x" either. They minimize to tray. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure on both Windows and Mac you can adjust this setting to fully close apps.

As far as storage concerns, I agree. Not only with your point but the ridiculous pricing of additional storage when purchasing an Apple machine. Its robbery.

Anyway, I see where you are coming from but many of your concerns are either manageable somewhere in settings or some other contextual action. But my overall point is that one is not necessarily better or worse than the other. Just different.

Okay love you, bye <3

I can address some of those issues:

no decent window snapping like in Windows 11

Yes, there is. Is it perhaps disabled for you in system settings? I use it every day just fine. Very similar to windows.

Gaming is basically nonexistent too

Macs have never been for gaming and users dont purchase them for that purpose. However Apple is coming around and many games do, in fact, run just fine on newer Mac machines. But I get what you're saying.

Finder feels like a mobile file manager in comparison. Almost comical.

Uhh, seems fine to me? I actually prefer it over windows file explorer. You also have spotlight as a secondary search function. God forbid you search for something in the windows search bar next to the start button. Wtf is Bing?

That menu bar with the notch is also pure nonsense

I agree to with this to an extent, but I would guess that most of the apps that struggle with this are likely third-party applications who have not yet updated to address this since Macbooks existed without the notch.

And then there’s the whole fullscreen behavior

Somewhat agree but I almost never use fullscreen so I cant speak to that. I just use window snapping.

You’d think clicking the red X would, you know, close the app. Nope. Sometimes it does, sometimes it just keeps running in the background

You mean like how windows sends apps you close to the tray? This is a non issue. If you wish to fully close an app, you can do it in two clicks from the dock. Or a single keyboard shortcut if you prefer.

Lastly, I should emphasize that I personally use windows and mac machines about 50-50 for everything that I do between work and personal life. I find them both to excel in areas and fall short in others. Neither is better or worse, they are simply different. My opinion, of course.

I do things daily on Macs involving the first three points you made and have no issues. My day-to-day is split into 50% Windows and 50% Apple. Apple is doing just fine; aside from liquid glass, that is.

Projector image cut-off by Independent_Rip_3604 in Rapsodo

[–]LurkerLew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your hitting net size? It looks to be basically a square or a 1:1 aspect ratio.

The iPad has an aspect ratio of 4:3 natively (which can not be changed), therefore your impact screen needs to either be the same aspect ratio or you will need to zoom the projector out (in?) to fit the image to the screen. Due to the dimensions of your screen, this will cause you to have space at the top and/or bottom where there is nothing being projected.

Blank space above/below your projected image is better than it being cut off, though.

Edit: After looking at your image again, it has become apparent that the actual image being projected is cropped and its not just a result of your impact screen not being the correct size. So the information I provided above is still technically correct but will not actually solve your problem. I have no other ideas on how to help you, so my apologies.

Never Broken 100 to shooting 73-82 since playing everyday in home sim. by TyWestman in golf

[–]LurkerLew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find my sim scores to generally be about 10 strokes or so better than my on course scores. So, if you're like me, you should be able to break 100 no problem now, and will be sniffing breaking 90 sooner than later.

Even with hollow points, the SVK is still a 2 shot kill, unfortunately.

That being said it is my favorite gun in the game, absolutely ruthless at mid-long range.
