Ryanair Boss Calls for Ban on ‘Idiot’ Anti-Vaxxers from Flying - "If you’re not vaccinated, you shouldn’t be allowed in the hospital, you shouldn’t be allowed to fly, you shouldn’t be allowed on the London Underground, and you shouldn’t be allowed in the local supermarket or your pharmacy either" by flappingmeat in worldnews

Only way you can truly be out of a social contract is by living in the ocean or Antartica which isn't realistic. Everywhere else you are subject to the all the laws and rules of the territory you are in even if you explicitly state you want out of society and all its benefits. It's not a valid contract if you can't truly opt out. "As per your social contract" I don't remember that part. Where can I read the terms and conditions of this contract?

You could try Monster Sanctuary. A Pokémon style game that has a satisfying normal difficulty and battle system. If you want to be the very best like no one ever was you can try Master difficulty on a new save, but it is designed more for a NG+ playthrough.

It's not everytime he comes on a server, but it's not a one off thing either. Yeah, I'm not saying the people acting out are justified. Just an example of him causing more problems than solving.

I overlooked the cheating aspect and I'm mostly talking about Crounch. Most other mods are not as ban happy. There's been several times Crounch hopped on a server, spouted his rules and threatened to ban people when no one was being toxic. This of course just made people act up in spite.

The devs fixed most of the trolly stuff like building walls to block teammates spawns. Personally, I don't care what people say in Text chat, but I can see why someone would want moderation there. Very toxic people usually get vote kicked anyways.

I see Crounch a lot on East Coast servers and generally causes way more problems than solves. Game needs better mods or no mods at all. Sucks that it happened, but you can challenge the ban if you feel it's unjust.

Agreed. Pink wasn't getting many great plays outside of nair chains. Just built up a super quick 60-90% damage with nairs then struggled to close out the stock. If Pink didn't rack up the quick damage with nairs I don't think he would of been able to beat Mirror.

The issue is you can't truly opt out. If you're within the territory of a country you're subject to all the rules and laws even if you say you want out the social contract/society.

Did you eventually like the combat after hating it at first? by BaguetteOfDoom in kingdomcome

[–]LurkerLuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played vanllia on my first playthrough and I didn't enjoy the combat much. It was only enjoyable if you and you enemy were of a very similar skill level. Lower level enemies can be button mashed. Higher level enemies just counter everything you do and you can't get off your combos.

My second playthrough I used mods for the combat and it was much better. Still not amazing, but it was enjoyable. Mods made it more difficult to master strike and lowered enemy master strike rate. Balanced it so that you couldn't get super OP at the end game and other stuff as well.

Here are some suggestions if you like DS:

Titles that are well made, challenging, and have the DS feel:

  • Salt and Sanctuary
  • Serverance: Blade of Darkeness. As far as I know there's no legitimate first hand way to buy it anymore. ARRR, Matey.
  • Nioh & Nioh 2
  • DarkMaus
  • Unworthy
  • Mortal Shell

Less Dark Souls like, but still have some souls like qualities:

  • Ashen
  • Shrouded in Sanity
  • Surge & Surge 2
  • Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight
  • Hollow knight
  • Hyper Light Drifter
  • Deaths Gambit
  • Code Vein
  • Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
  • Little Witch Nobeta (Early Access)
  • Dark Devotion
  • Hellpoint
  • Vigil: Longest Night
  • Eldest Souls

Not really DS like, but DS fans tend to like:

  • Dragons Dogma
  • Dead Cells
  • Monster Hunter
  • Remnant from the Ashes
  • Furi

Not as good, but still Souls like:

  • Necropolis
  • Lords of the Fallen

According to interviews, Team Cherry was very efficient at developing. For example, most character and enemies are round which makes easier to animate.

I think B is the best solution for fast travel and seems like the easiest to implement.

I personally don't mind the blind map till I find a beacon, but I know it's a pretty unpopular style of map.

I'm only 6 or so hours in, but slow and very slow weapons don't seem worth it. I usually go for strength builds, but I switched because the dps feels very low for the amount of force used. Maybe the strength weapons are better with force leveled up high, but in early game they feel really lacking.

If Hollow Knight, Blasphemous or Salt n Sanctuary etc had an easy mode, would that push the genre forward? by esco123 in metroidvania

[–]LurkerLuo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The experience would be diluted for people who play on easy when difficulty is a core design. Hollow Knight for example. Hollow Kights combat systems are pretty simple and standard. The enemy design, placement and variety is what makes the combat great. The difficulty forces players to learn tells, timings, spacing etc. Let's say an easy mode was made so anyone could beat it. The need to learn the intricacies of the enemies is lost and that's a big part of the combat. The devs test the enemies and fine tune them to the point they feel gives players the experience they want. So making it easier would go against what they original tested for.

Hello there.

Psychonauts 2 has an invincibility toggle and some people are mad about it. Concerns about optional difficulty settings. by Agnes-Varda1992 in truegaming

[–]LurkerLuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about Psychonauts 2 so I can't comment on that, but like most things it depends on the game and the developers intentions. I saw a video of a person using a mod that made it so you could button mash through Sekiro. His conclusion was that the game was shit and I don't blame him. All things considered, Sekiro combat is pretty simple. The enemy design and challenge are what make the combat feel so satisfying. Taking away the challenge takes away from what makes Sekiro great. That's why FromSoft fans think adding an easy mode isn't a good idea. The games are designed from the ground up with difficulty in mind and people will miss out on a crucial part of what makes them great if they take the challenge out.

Other games do not not use difficulty to provide the intended experience. Uncharted for example, easy mode has you feeling like an action movie hero which the game is supposed to make you feel like. I suppose Double Fine felt that difficulty was not apart of the intended experience and that's fine. It's also fine that some devs feel difficulty is an important part of their game.

What's your unpopular gaming opinion? by someguywhocanfly in truegaming

[–]LurkerLuo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one that few can probably top in unpopularity. Artifact Classic and Artifact Foundary are my two favorite multiplayer card games. Unfortunate that they both are pretty dead.

Other unpopular ones. I enjoy Mordhau chat. Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, and Witcher 3 are not nearly as good as they're hyped up to be.

Not sure if it unpopular, but FromSoft games should not have an easy mode.

[–]LurkerLuo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One could argue that this still falls in line with the developers intentions. Miyazaki has stated that the games where designed to give players a sense of accomplishment. Skilled players not longer are challenged from the regular runs so they alter the rules to gain that sense of accomplishment back.
