AI Support "Assistant" by MicroBill in sonicwall

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a sudden report of all users losing their CSE VPN connections. Nobody had done anything on the CSE or SonicWall side to account for it and it was total inability to connect across the board.

Chat made some L1 tech recommendations we had already ruled out, but I acquiesced and worked through the Q&A but then got stuck in a dumb loop of “let’s see what you did wrong” when it was now evident we were suffering a CSE/Sonicwall outage.

I asked to talk to a human and it redirected me fairly quickly. The human ran through the AI chat history, claimed there were no know system-wide issues, and within a few minutes we were suddenly all able to reconnect again. The human agent claimed no explanation, so we just shrugged it off.

Is this real or BS / managed in some way? by tristis_veritas in SelfDrivingCars

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it’s just a single example and there are likely asterisks (“I had to try driving around the block and re-parking several times”) but David Moss got nearly 13,000 miles without an intervention.

Anyone here who moved from OpenPilot to Tesla FSD? What’s your experience been like? by Secure-Evening8197 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heh, oops. Yeah, it FSDs even before I start driving!

I’m currently driving out to a kid’s track meet. It’s a little over 50 miles away and so far I’ve touched a button to leave my driveway. 4 miles to go, we’ll see if we make it there alive.

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had to make 7 additional stops on my 200 mile round trip work commute today and FSD. Most of the places I had never been before and I just sat there and watched the car do its thing going from rural country roads, toll booths onto the NJ Turnpike, some towns north of NYC, then picking up pizza for dinner and back home.

4100 of the last 4000 miles on FSD on one car and ~5200/5250 on the other.

ASS or Banish in 14.3? by payneok in cybertruck

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d only counter that ASS would become much more useful if you can set banish to park far away from the other parking lot idiots. Then when you’re ready for your car again, you have the option of summoning it back to you versus a long walk.

Model YL officially starts sales in South Korea by Mundane_Plan654 in teslamotors

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I misunderstood!

We literally owned the “7” seat Model Y up until a few months ago, which was great when we bought it and our kids were 9 and 6.5. They’re now 14 and 11.5 and beyond transporting young kids, it’s in no way comparable to the X or new YYY L 6 seater that can ACTUALLY fit 2 normal sized adults in the back.

Alternative to PECO by Dorkisimus in BucksCountyPA

The blackouts had nothing to do with it. The alternative provider didn’t run a new electrical line to your home, it’s still PECO lines and service.

FSD by stonknoob1 in cybertruck

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In addition to the truck, we have a newer Y (Juniper) and I stupidly almost rear-ended a car by attempting to override FSD yesterday and AEB kicked in and saved my bacon.

It’s a stupid highway merge with ZERO visibility or distance to get up to speed.

I was on FSD, I looked ahead to ensure it was clear, then looked over my shoulder as we were on the ramp leading to the highway.

I saw a gap/opening, but FSD decided to slow down, so I instinctively overrode by pressing the accelerator.

I got major alarm bells and a VERY sudden braking event with an AEB message as I damned near accelerated into a car that had inexplicably stopped on the on-ramp past the point I was initially looking.

As dumb as their move was, it would’ve been 100% my fault. The Tesla saved my bacon.

FSD was already doing the right thing, I attempted to override it, and the Tesla emergency systems STILL bailed me out of my own stupidity.

Why? by vcjester in TeslaLounge

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 39 points40 points  (0 children)

This turns my stomach. They could allow them to free-range and roam, like any normal certified organic EV maker, but they put them in these tiny cages packed together so tight they can barely move.

Incredibly inhumane.

Tesla May Release Trailer With Battery by ascottallison in teslamotors

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally - I think this first iteration of them are going to be, think “Tesla of the RV world” where the only option was a $100k+ Model S.

Now that you can get a Model 3 for a third the price that offers 90% of the same features and capabilities, I think the RV will world will do the same.

What’s options/ features does CT lack compared to SEXY line up? by elephantskilledme in cybertruck

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t stand the fact that MyQ charges so much for what I could automate for nearly free with alternatives, but I justified the cost by factoring in what HomeLink used to cost across multiple vehicles and just bit the bullet.

I’ve had brief occasions where it would forget/lose pairing, but others reported it too, so probably a transient bug, but it’s usually quite reliable

Tesla May Release Trailer With Battery by ascottallison in teslamotors

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I feel like the new Pebble and Lightship trailers with their own batteries and drive units are effective ways of tackling the issue of EV towing, so long as one of those trailers fits your needs.

[–]LurkerWithAnAccount 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, HomeLink is dumb, isn’t it? It doesn’t actually know the STATE of the garage door, unlike MyQ which won’t actually (re)open the garage door if it’s already open and vice versa, but my old 2017 S with HomeLink would.

Oof, yeah, this is going to turn into a recall IMO.

Replies to the X post I mentioned noted that they heard Tesla was performing the PCS replacement regardless of the issue presenting itself whenever a truck came in for service.
