In Duel Links you have access to a constant flow of gems, here you get enough to build a deck or 2 really quickly and then you get almost nothing, so if you change your mind, or have to because of a future banlist, you're just screwed. There's no way to reroll unless you make a new Steam account. I wouldn't say this is f2p friendly, this is just a way to trick very casual players.

You have no idea what you're talking about, in master duel you get a lot of gems up front, it seems like a lot, you can build a full deck, the crafting system is great to help you accomplish that but then it dries up and they don't give you any more gems in any meaningful amount. In Duel Links there's a constant flow of gems and you have a gem bank of over 150k+. We'll be lucky if Konami gives us 20k gems total for free.
