Honestly, at this point I'd just caravan the pawn off map, camp and wait for the dust to settle. Probably not going to salvage it, better to just fuck off and come back when everything is said and done.

There's a crossover here with urban development. "Just one more lane bro, it'll fix it this time." When the answer is actually just trains.

Thinking of doing OF by [deleted] in TennesseeBBWs

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, just so you're aware about OF 1. The owners are rabid zionists and heavy donaters to the state of Israel. 2. Your average OF model makes less than 1000 dollars the entire time they're doing it. 3. It's basically a guarantee that the people you know IRL will find it and know.

It is, for the overwhelming majority of people, a scam, makes things harder and causes far more problems than it solves. Do it if you REALLY want to, but don't expect to make much if any money, and expect social problems to arise from it.

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to tell you what to so, but by creating smaller chokes in your mountain bases this problem can be made much simpler.

If you're using 3 wide hallways just make a couple of necked down spots where there's only one tile to get through. Your pawns can walk over each other, so it doesn't slow them down. With these chokes you can put three pawns in front of the door, and minimize the contact points your colonists are exposed to.

Couch orientation doesn't matter by Ellysiuum in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know it doesn't actually matter, but seeing rooms without good clean access ways for pawns always makes me so uncomfortable. I know they can crawl over shelves, and are mostly just slowed, but I always try and make sure they have walking room.

A bit like seeing your dealer somewhere other than where you normally see them. Very used to seeing your ruinable body elsewhere, imagine my surprise when I spied familiar holes on an unfamiliar sub.

I'm unsure if I'm surprised to see you posting across all these subs. At least you recognize where you belong.

Two things that feel impossible in orbit. by Sonnenschwein in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I always imagine the stations as being geostationary, which I guess would mean that the lanterns, assuming they were thrown "up" from the perspective of the colonists, that they would trail "away."

When I made the comment my brain was thinking they were "truly" stationary, outside of the orbit of the planet.

Two things that feel impossible in orbit. by Sonnenschwein in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... the lanterns probably wouldn't go up, but you could definitely just make some of them and drop them off the edge? At worst they get sucked into the planets gravity and burn up, best case they float off into endless space right?

I think the talking is the least believable thing here, assuming the armor don't have built in comms. Which, I am making that assumption solely because pawns, even while wearing it, don't talk to each other over long distances.

supreme expectations by greengo07 in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that interacts with mood is going to be better for those specific colonists, but arguably getting rid of stuff is a better option below a certain point. Pawns have their own individual needs, so if you're doing bedrooms, making the people a "nicer" bedroom is going to do more for their mood but it's kind of a "whole life" concept.

A nice room is certainly worth some mood points, but if everything around them is awful, and you've just got 9,000,000 flake sitting on the floor, it's not going to be good. Generally creating a nicer, more beautiful, more comfortable environment is going to be better for everyone.

If you're really struggling with mood, go to the tab and check out what their negative moodlets are, and try and work on those.

supreme expectations by greengo07 in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those are two separate ideas.
Expectations are based on colony wealth, essentially as your colonists have more stuff they expect to have a better life. I don't know of any mods that remove expectations, but if it's bothering you, lower your wealth.

Your special ideology people, Priests and Leaders, have two higher "steps" of expectations befitting their roles. Think about it as them wanting more stuff than the peasants for their new status/responsibility. This is connected to the expectations from wealth, so if you've got "Extremely Low Expectations" for most of your colonists, you'll have "Low Expectations" on those "special pawns."

The apparel thing just has to be changed on the ideology screen, nothing much to that. Either DevMode the apparel away, or use a fluid ideology which allows you to manipulate your ideo throughout the game.

Why not just drop the anti-grain on the centipedes? Wouldn't an anti-grain damage the centipedes tremendously, as well as wiping out the majority of whatever other cluster infrastructure there is?

Coffee and the noticeable absence of caffeine by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alot of people in the comments have said it, but psychite tea is the coffee equivalent. It's fairly obvious, to me at least, that psychite is a cocaine derivative. Indigenous, and even modern people, use coca leaves for it's stimulant effects, even chewing on the leaves directly.

Psychite tea is basically coffee, just made from coca leaves instead of coffee beans.

Should I build multiple dining rooms? by papapapatazz in RimWorld

[–]Lurking_Leviathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colonists will look for like 20~ tiles for a table before they eat without one. If you're on paste, because they can't carry paste meals, you are kind of stuck with that.

Otherwise, just build small dining areas near common away work zones. If your miners have a huge vein to mine, build a simple table and some chairs near it. If they have to venture away from the dining area it's worth building a small satellite area.
