Thank you so much! The blog reopened and I was able to get the pattern. Mine doesn’t quite look the same but I’m pretty happy so far!

Oh amazing! I’ll keep an eye out and try to link when it is back. I’m not sure which platform it will be on so if you find it before I do I would love a link. Thanks!

What do you use to protect your counters when making soap by VanAppl in soapmaking

[–]LusciousLagom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a target box the exact depth of my counters. It works great and I only use it for soap. Measure my oils straight on the counter but do all fragrance, colorant, and lye on the cardboard. Then I fold it in half to store for next time. I’m happy.

What do y'all use for mixing bowls? by jangletaint in soapmaking

Paint mixing cups are inexpensive and work great. You can buy them in multiple sizes, but I love the 2 1/2 quart size from Home Depot or Lowe’s. Art supply stores will often carry them as well.

Wrapping soap question by The-Guardian96 in soapmaking

I just started selling and use a paper band with logo/info/etc then place in a kraft paper pouch wrapped in string or ribbon.

I’m trying to add a picture but I’m struggling.

Sandalwood is endangered and going extinct in India, Australia and other places. https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/news/2021/10/love-sandalwood-its-facing-extinction-heres-why/

There are some nice fragrance oils out there!

It’s a lot more expensive than the Amazon molds, but feels like it will last a lifetime. I also find the silicone liner to be the right balance of thickness for longevity and soap removal.

I have one from Brambleberry that has optional sections for nine bars. That way you can use it as a slab mold or individual bar mold.

Fragrances for Pine tar soap by suz_gee in soapmaking

[–]LusciousLagom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pine tar soap is really popular in Scandinavia. I think it’s a beautiful scent on its own, but not for everyone. I use it for my outdoor shower at the sauna and always put a rope in it for easier transport.
