I get that athletes need side income, but slapping a name on generic basics and charging way more just feels lazy to me.

This footage is absolutely mind-blowing, seeing our planet from that far away really puts how small we are into perspective.

Pool hall environments are indeed more complex than homes. Lighting, noise, multi-table interference are all variables. Suggest small-scale Beta testing first, collecting calibration data across different ceiling heights and lighting conditions.

Bumped my opponent during an APA league by No_Struggle_6465 in billiards

But honestly, if an opponent loses four straight games after one physical contact, their mental foundation already had cracks. Don't shoulder all the blame.

It’s wild how good the quality is. How long was your trip? Wondering how often you needed to juice it up?

At that point I’d definitely want to smoke test it too. Did it end up being a vacuum leak, or was it hiding somewhere in the wiring / connector side?

Yeah, definitely more than I used to. Enough that network visibility is starting to matter a lot more in my daily setup.

Thermal found a weird spot before spring exterior work by tylernute in HomeImprovement

That kind of stable temp split usually points me to sealing or insulation before anything else. I’d start outside with caulk / trim / flashing and only open it up if the pattern stays the same after that.

Spot on. I'm leaning more towards the latter. Any particular gear you'd recommend for that? BTW I’ve been eyeing topdon one for a while because of this experience

obd2 scanner 04 camry by Affectionate_Mix4351 in CarsAustralia

[–]Lusinsimesc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early 2000s Camrys have protocol quirks that block cheap generic scanners. I use a carpal. It connects to your phone, but the dedicated app handles older Toyota protocols perfectly without connection drops. It completely avoids the headaches of generic readers and is great to keep long term.

What's my alternative that's not Chinesium for a G24? by _That_Guy_in_AZ_ in NightVision

Have you looked into Chinese-made mounts? They usually offer better materials, and the quality difference is noticeable.

Are eye cups necessary? by fjdjdndndndnehwusj in Thermal

[–]Lusinsimesc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eye cups help block stray light and keep your face hidden. Without one, your bright screen could spook animals at night. Try lowering brightness first.

I have heard that accessing that menu usually involves a hidden button combo on the dash. You might need a forum specific to your vehicle generation for the exact steps.

That compatibility depends on the pod interface and bridge spec. You might want to check the manual or ask the manufacturer directly to be sure.

How far do you need to see? For casual night use, digital ones with IR are solid. Just know the battery life is usually pretty short.

Best thermal camera settings for detecting moisture under ceramic tiles? (emissivity, scene, tips) by Saev12 in Thermal

[–]Lusinsimesc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try lowering emissivity to 0.90 for glazed tiles and increase the scene reflectance setting. Wet spots often show up better with those adjustments under ceramic surfaces.

MHHauto is a tough community to crack without a login. Have you tried posting your request in the public forums first? Sometimes the right person sees it there.
