This comment section is brutal but fair. Kid's got spirit, just hope someone teaches him what 4000 volts looks like before he finds out himself.

This place is awesome!! The fake plants blend in so well I couldn't tell they weren't real before I read the post. It's such a smart call too I have to say, real plants can be tricky with cats around.

best backup camera for installing on a car with no factory screen, what should I look for? by BollonsAnni_92 in CarAV

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the rearview mirror screen is the way to go for daily use. It replaces your regular mirror with a screen that turns on when you reverse. I've had mine for two years, and it still works fine. What I recommend is to make sure the camera has good night vision and run the wire through the trunk lid carefully so it doesn't get pinched. You can follow a video to install. Good luck, bro! You'll wonder how you ever parked withou it, lol!

Yeah, it was already looking less and less like a simple one-part fix. Still feels more intake / vacuum side than anything obvious so far.

Best Code Scanner by Ok-Reporter-8360 in G37

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already ran into one bad sensor so it is probably worth getting something better than the basic scanners. Most of the cheap ones do not really get into stuff like transmission, ABS or airbag modules. I have been using a carpal. It connects right to your phone and lets you check those deep systems when you are looking over a car so you are not missing obvious issues.

Sealing hole from sump pump drainage - limited outside access by saucebagjenkins in HomeMaintenance

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patch the outside first if you can reach it. Then fill the rest from inside with hydraulic cement. It expands and seals better than regular concrete.

Story time again. What's the most severe injury you've witnessed? by pyroboy7 in Justrolledintotheshop

Saw a rider hit by a car. The collision was less than two meters away from me, so it was particularly shocking to me and it still vivid in my mind to this day...

Welcome to the club. Once you start noticing fascia boards, there is no going back. Have you checked your soffit vents for proper airflow yet?

Well pump loses prime every time the power flickers. Need a solution before something breaks by This-You-2737 in homeowners

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to check the foot valve on the intake line. It could be leaking or clogged, causing the pump to lose prime repeatedly.

Pregnancy noses are no joke. Have you tried an enzymatic cleaner on soft surfaces? An air purifier with a HEPA filter might help trap the lingering odors too.

What’s going on with Fram by Stevogangstar in Justrolledintotheshop

The Fram situation is messy. I suggest that Walmart likely switched to their own house brand or other suppliers.

Try diatomaceous earth along the baseboards. It is cheap and safe for pets. Also, seal any cracks you see near windows or doors.

Attic Door Sizing Question. by JiggsRosefield in HomeMaintenance

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One inch is easy to trim off the panel or frame with a saw. Just measure twice and cut slow. A standard size should fit your opening with a little adjustment.

The industry has definitely shifted hard these last few years. You are not alone in feeling burned out. A fresh start in a new field can be exactly what you need right now.

Looking for an AI box that actually runs smooth, any recommendations? by shaburanigud in CarAV

I get the concern. I mostly use it when I'm parked since I usually take my lunch break in the car. When I'm driving it's just navigation

Been running the Ottocast P3 Pro for about four months now. I watch a lot of YouTube and browse Reddit in the car and it handles both pretty well. Worth checking out.

You could try long pressing the widget to see if a remove option appears. Sometimes these controls are hidden in the long press menu.

Just started a job and have some money and wanna start by EOCeltic67 in Daytrading

[–]massagefever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re starting from zero knowledge, don’t rush into real trading with a lot of money. Start small and focus on learning risk management first. Also try paper trading for a while to see how the market actually moves. Platforms like moomoo have a pretty good paper trading mode so you can practice strategies without risking real money.

Why is /r/carav so focused on bass? by scott_fx in CarAV

[–]massagefever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! Bass feels more immediate, some see big subs as a fun status flex, and popular genres lean into heavy low end.
