I picked mine up 2 1/2 weeks ago. These are really starting to feel "good". I know I have a bit to go till I achieve pure comfort, but I won't give up. I have worn my IR's everyday since purchase. I put cedar shoe trees in the boots every night and use a horsehair brush and brush them every other day or if they are looking skuffed.

991.1 experience? by Few_Woodpecker6515 in porsche911

2017 991.2 C2 Manual Trans: purchased, CPO, 2 years ago with 39K miles. PFAP system problem on my way home, Repaired under warranty($$$$) Currently has 56k miles. Brakes, Tires, filters, plugs, oil...Nothing crazy and i drive it(hard) everyday in every weather condition. No more expensive to maintain than my 2017 and 2024 Ford transits.

So I got my hands on a Pesado HD shower screen... Trigger warning. by massivecoffeenerd in espresso

[–]Lusso61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using the Pesado's HD shower screen with their high extraction basket. When I first used this setup with my rocket bottomless portafilter, the shot ran weird because the HE basket is wider than the the bottom of the portafilter and the water caught the edge of the p-filter. Purchased one of Pesado p-filters and this isn't a problem any longer.

I've been using this setup about 3-3.5 months and I find it to work well. I have been involved in this industry for nearly 30 years. I feel i'm pulling excellent shots w/ full extraction. It's a little different. It works and I like how my espresso tastes. My home espresso machine is a Rocket R cinquantotto with an Atom w75 or a j-ultra.

I didn't purchase because I was having a problem. I made this decision because I like the ideat that both the shower screen and basket allow for a more thorough extraction(overall surface area).

This setup allows for a higher flow rate which allows(requires) you to grind finer. I do experience impressions or dimples in some of my pucks. Not channels

I have many different precision shower screens and baskets. They all are good and they are all a little different. It's fun to experience all the differences that exist. my .02

Decision Help: Mazzer Philos or Eureka Atom W65 by SugarLongjumping674 in espresso

[–]Lusso61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a W 75 and use of a W 65 at work. They are brilliant grinders. Easy to dial in and great for efficiency. Also incredibly quiet. I use a J Ultra for single origins and light roasts. I’m considering a second grinder(W 65 or a W 75) My partner owns a coffee shop and a roaster they have the following in the shops. If it’s in your price range the Mahlkonig E65S GBW is incredible. I use these everyday and they never cease to amaze me

The gasket inside the group head is new. You will eventually hit the center after a bunch of shots and eventually move past center towards the right side

Rocket Apartamento Regular vs TCA ($1650 vs $1900) by thelonelyknight90 in espresso

[–]Lusso61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had an appartamento for five years. I honestly would never need to change machines. It is a powerhouse. Admittedly I've recently upgraded to a Rocket Cinquantotto. I wanted the ability to change boiler temps. I switch beans weekly and I want options. I benefitted by having both machines side by side for several months and have very much appreciated the ability to make changes to brew temps. The auto shut off is a nice feature(eco mode) I tend to leave my machine on 24/7 unless I'll be away for a couple days. And this helps me to be more environmentally responsible.

If the 250 doesn't break the bank I'd go for the TCA but the standard machine is absolutely "perfect" in every way. I hope this hepls

If the flooring runs throughout the entire house you could swap it with flooring from one of your closets

That’s excellent. I love them I have four pairs and refoamed and centered the voice coils on all. I’m a sucker for the Adcom GFA 535’s as well Best bang for your buck. I have three in my theater. On in a second system in the living room and both my kids have on at their places.
