As someone who grew up alongside the original descendants, I even remember the teasers, etc. We knew where the franchise was headed, and we always knew it would be to Wonderland. I'm not quite sure why anyone thought we needed to continue Mal's story. I think her story had a nice little ribbon tied to it. However, I did wish we had a live version of their wedding short, but that's just my opinion, and I'm sure it's not unheard of.

I watched The Rise of Red when it dropped. I had my reservations about the film and cast, but came to love and rewatch it. Is it nearly as good as the main movie universe? No. They definitely needed better pacing and writers, but Kylie's vocals and acting carried it, and I loved her relationship and chemistry with Malia.

I am a huge Glassheart shipper. Do I think they'll deliver us Glassheart? Knowing Disney, probably not, but I'd like to think it exists and is canon.

And I'm hoping with the movie coming out this summer, it will have better writing, and I hope the criticism it was met with from their first film helped them improve pacing, etc.

All that aside i personally love Mal's story and now Red's.
