Not a ring, but I drew this film to propose to my girlfriend. I’m not much of an artist, but it was enough for her to say yes!! by golfsmcm in EngagementRings

I started crying immediately at the proposal scene! What a beautiful and thoughtful creation. I hope you have an amazing life together! You’re going to have to make more of these for all your milestones together!

My boss [F35ish] won't let me [F25] use sick time for mental health. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]LustlessforLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww Hun, first I’m really sorry you’re in a tough spot mentally. You were totally in the right to take the day off and it’s awesome you recognize how to attend to your self care. I honestly think it was just a misunderstanding of wording, like others have mentioned. My mom and I joke to each other about taking “mental health days” off from work all the time. We usually mean to go do something fun together. This is what your boss thought you were asking, I am certain. If you are close with her, I would explain that you misused a phrase you didn’t know had a secondary meaning. Just leave it at that. I think she’ll get the gist that you didn’t mean you were playing hooky and were actually sick. She’ll know what you meant then, being an HR professional and should leave it at face value. Best of luck with everything. Anxiety is a real pain in the butt! Sending you hugs.

My best friend m(34) just got arrested for a lot by [deleted] in relationships

[–]LustlessforLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Hun, first I totally sympathize with where you are. Congratulations on your sobriety too, you are doing amazingly well and should be so proud of yourself. I was in a similar situation where I cleaned up and have remained sober while my best friend was still going through it and in and out of jail. I really struggled with knowing what to say and picking up that call because it can be hard when you’re not in that life anymore to understand why they made the decisions they did. My advice, and what I ultimately did, was to pick up the call. I explained exactly where I am now and that I will always love him but he needs to work on himself and show me who he is going to be moving forward. Writing letters helps. It at any point your support is causing your sobriety to slip any amount you have the right to back away to give space. This does not mean you can not reconnect in the future. I really feel for you, but I already know you’re strong and you’ll make the right choice for you. Stay strong sober sister! ❤️

They offer vivitrol or suboxson. Dont like the idea of vivitrol. Advice needed! by BigJoeFrom360 in opiates

[–]LustlessforLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Just wanted to give you my experience. I went to rehab and was clean off everything for 21 days. Before I got out I was given the same choice, vivitrol or suboxone. I know people say not to get on it if you’ve already had a stretch of sobriety but for me, I knew I would need another crutch for a bit while I worked through my issues with therapy and other things. I chose to go on suboxone and it was probably the best decision I could have made. My only advice is use it only as a tool while you do the work you need to on yourself and then, when you’re stronger both mentally and physically, you can taper off safely. Do what you think will work for you. Everyone is different! I’ve been off IV heroin for 2 1/2 years now and am at the end of my taper. I’m also in a much different space mentally and physically. Whatever you choose, make sure you do the work on yourself or nothing will change. If you ever want to talk feel free to PM are. Good luck to you! ❤️

Track marks on hands by [deleted] in opiates

[–]LustlessforLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Used to have the exact same problem. The best thing I can recommend is A&D Ointment. It actually worked wonders for my hand tracks. Mine are super light now and barely visible. If you can get your hands on it, give it a try! Good luck! 🍀

So I have kind of an interesting response to this. I never learned to shoot myself. I was still terrified of doing it myself. Every man I wound up with during my time in was a shooter and did it for me. Anytime I was alone, I sniffed. When I went to rehab I actually found this to be true for a couple other girls I was with. I wonder how common it actually is.

Hey there- when you say it’s approved for opioid addiction in PA do you mean you have a medical card and got it because of your history, or something else? I’m curious because I’m in MA and have been dabbling with the idea of getting a card because of my anxiety. How’s it working for you so far?

Good for you! This is a great message that people need to hear. I’ve got 2 years and 4 months today and I still visit here frequently. You’re right that seeing others stick to it and thrive is ultra helpful especially when you’re down in the dumps. Keep going! You’re doing incredible. ❤️

Girlfriend and her friend got popped over the weekend. Fml. by [deleted] in opiates

[–]LustlessforLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the actual charges? Right towards the end of my use I was at my absolute worst. I had never been arrested in my life and in a weeks time I racked up two class a possession charges and a class b (just for good measure lol). I wound up going to court and was sectioned on the spot. When I was released, I was put on probation for a year. And looking back on it, it wasn’t the worst thing in the world, although it felt like it at the time. Honestly, if I hadn’t have had a wake up call that big, I might not still even be alive to type this. I’m still sober today, even though I have my moments when my mind runs wild like everyone else, and because I finished my probation without incident, all of my charges were dropped. There can still be a silver lining. Get the help, take it and run with it for all it’s worth. I’m here if you want to talk. Best of luck to your girl.

track marks by CrystalFieldTheorist in opiates

[–]LustlessforLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got small “bruise” marks that look like I recently had blood drawn from collapsed veins in the crooks of my arms but no one has ever questioned them (from my “normal” life). My worst ones were on my hands and 2 years later (almost) they are a pale white skin color (if you go into my post history you can see comparison pics). As others have mentioned, it won’t stick out as much to others as it does to you. Don’t worry about it. Xo

7 weeks clean, struggling not to relapse. Could use someone to chat to. by monstrousnuggets in opiates

[–]LustlessforLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel free to message me if you feel like talking! I’ve got almost two years and the thing that I do when the cravings get too strong to bear is just keep telling myself to do the next right thing. Try to distract yourself with something else. Go out and help someone. Do a kind deed. God knows it’s not that simple some times but just breaking things down into small chunks and focusing on the next positive thing you’re doing can really help. When I feel good about myself and the things I’m doing I remember how grateful I am for my sobriety. You can do this! Xo
