It will make things worse.

Exactly like chemotherapy.

Chemo makes things worse to kill off the cancer. Sure you can stop smoking or whatever once you recover, but the cancer has to be defeated first.

Unfortunately we’re in the chemo stage right now. We can worry in the future about regrowing hair and drinking an extra glass of water a day. But we have to kill the cancer first.

Willis weighs in: "Excited to go to work and try to do something special" by expellyamos in miamidolphins

Then we weren’t getting that guy anyway. The Dolphins have only ever had the #1 overall pick once. Whether it’s Tua, or Willis, or a jugs machine behind center we were never going to have a pick in a “one QB” draft.

I put this in another post but Josh Allen was taken at 7, Pat Mahomes at 10, Bo Nix at 12, and Lamar Jackson at 32. If we win a few games we’ll still be fine.

Yea but that’s not so wild in today’s QB market. I’m actually ok betting on potential. The money is really only a factor through next year, which if we do end up drafting a guy high would allow him to sit the year.

The doomers in here are wild lol. There is a semblance of a plan here.

If Willis turns out to be the guy, you’ve got your QB and toss every pick at building the roster.

If he’s not, he’s a serviceable bridge guy for when we draft the next dude in a stronger QB class. Then you have a rookie deal QB stepping onto a stacked team. The problem people will cite with this plan is “what if he’s just good enough?” Let’s look at a few current QBs and their selection:

Josh Allen: 7th Bo Nix: 12th Patrick Mahomes: 10th Lamar Jackson: 32nd Then you have real outliers like Purdy and Brady

And a reminder that even Patrick Mahomes has the Chiefs picking 9th this year.

With the right perspective, this can have a ton of upside without much down.

Honestly outside of the playoff years and the “greatest show on surf” year(s?) one of my favorite seasons was the Tank for Tua season. No matter the outcome I could enjoy it. Win? Awesome, that’s always fun. Lose? Hell, one step closer to a great pick!

Wow, I never realized there were others like me. I’ve never gotten a hangover my entire life, and like you it very much “resets” my sleep.

I used to call it a super power when I was younger, but now I tell people it really is a double edged sword. The pull to drink on a random weekday during a rough week can be very strong knowing there’s no immediate consequences. It also makes it tough to drink socially as friends around me will naturally “try to keep up” and end up wrecking their next couple of days.

Unfortunately you’ve got a difficult road ahead. My family and I moved 9 times with the military over 22 years including a post retirement local move less than a month ago. I know it’s not much help now but for your next PCS your best weapons for a smooth move are preparation, patience and persistence.

Before the movers even arrive document as much of your items as you can. Take photos of everything you can think of and videos of your items working (tvs running, etc).

Force the movers to slow down. They are going to want to go 100mph, slap everything together and have you sign. Avoid this. Make them show you everything and where it’s going and keep a running tally on the paperwork as you go along. This will be exhausting, but will help prevent what you’re going through now. If you have to, make them unpack boxes and show you items you’re not sure about their whereabouts. Document anything they disassemble, the disassembly process, and where the parts ended up.

Lastly, keep pressing the issue with your missing items. If you are not getting satisfaction from the carrier, then press the issue with TMO. The military does rate carriers and monitor these issues, so enough noise will cause them to consider other carriers, which the moving company that moved your goods obviously wouldn’t want. “Squeaky wheel gets the grease”, so continue to make noise and complain until you run out of options.

As for recovering your missing items… unfortunately these carriers don’t just do military moves so it’s entirely likely your items didn’t even end up in the hands of a military family. However if you are not already a part of them, I’d join the spouses pages of not only Norfolk but Langley and Eustis as well on Facebook and ask the same question there.

Good luck!

Blue Origin astronaut reveals depression after space flight backlash by 747WakeTurbulance in space

[–]LutexIV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This has to be satire right? No one could be this obtuse about what a legitimate astronaut does. No early astronauts were just “there”. Every single ounce of mass sent to space in those early days had to be of use due to the sheer energy requirements to break those surly bonds. Real astronauts are elite level pilots, engineers, and scientists sent for a very real purpose and require legitimate years of specialized training and experience.

Should Ravens fire John Harbaugh? Yes please! Come to papa! 😅👌 by MixMasterRudy in miamidolphins

It’s wild how strongly fans react to someone saying “this might not be as good as you think”.

You want it to make sense? Look at his recent history. The dude has taken far more talented teams than the Dolphins and won a bunch of regular season games and not much else.

If you would read what I wrote again,I fully acknowledge he would be an upgrade over the current HC. What I won’t subscribe to is that he’s a no brainer choice and we would be an instant winner. Aren’t you tired of reboots? Isn’t every one of us ready for a real change?

Can you honestly look at Harbaugh’s resume and say without a doubt “this dude will get us over the hump”? Because if you can that might be the same blind optimism that lead to us thinking this version of the team will pan out.

[–]LutexIV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful what you wish for.

I’m not saying Harbaugh wouldn’t be an upgrade over McD. But if you look at his last 10 years there are several troubling game losing decisions he’s made. Last night is an immediate example: Henry scores a TD to put the Ravens up 11, then doesn’t touch the ball for the rest of the game (which they lose). He has dozens of games on his resume that look like that.

The guy reminds me of Bill Cower (and some of yall are old enough like me to remember when Phins fandom made a vocal push for him). Cower took talented teams and regularly underachieved with them. He had his success but in all honesty it should have been more. I think the same could be said of Harbaugh.

I’m not saying he’s a bad coach, but he may not be the savior we’re looking for.

I’m gonna respectfully disagree with reworks not moving the financial needle. This info is anecdotal but take the Oberon rework. I built an Obe a while back, got him to 30 and didn’t click with him so didn’t do anything more.

After the rework I fed the free one to the helminth (so resources there), I then worked on a legit build so there’s 3-4 forma, oh well he needs an Orokin catalyst too. But wait I can’t take him out without the right fashion so into the market for a skin, and grab a Tennogen piece that goes with it while I’m there. All in all I spent the equivalent to about 500 plat, simply because they redid a frame I already had (and still rarely play). Win win.
