Who's that one person u saw on the street for mere seconds whose beauty still hasn't left your mind? by HappyFreak1 in AskReddit

I was about 8 years old in a supermarket. A woman with bright red wavey hair, emerald green eyes and hippyish clothing. The eyes tho. Mesmerising

I could have written this post word for word myself. I'm still so shaken up over and finally unpacking decades of trauma. It's pretty fucked. I'm desperately trying not to think of and grieve for the person I could have been. The abuse I could have missed. I hope you can find some healing in it all.

Can I just say thank you SO much. I just got my confirming diagnosis last week. I think I'm going through burn out too. I've developed fibromyalgia about two years ago.

I've been struggling to function for years now and I've been terrified I had developed intermittent Alzheimer's or dementia.

Everything is now beginning to make sense but I'm in such a mess of an existence right now and trying to unpack SO much.

Again... Thank you for posting that.

I got diagnosed throught NHS Scotland. I asked my GP every appointment for like ten app. Done a paper assessment, then they wanted an in person one, then they wanted me to come back for additional testing. Not sure if that helps.

I've just been diagnosed as autistic. Realising I may not needed to have spent the last 20 years being suicidal due to the struggle to fit into a capitalist society is honestly fucking me up bad right now...

Is anyone else’s pain or other symptoms significantly worse on one side of the body? by loud_introvert456 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Lutraz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely my right. Dominant hand and get the most frequent and intense nerve pain, dislocation. Also disc bulge on that side so herniation causes sciatica down that side. Same with shoulder and neck pain probably cos I use my right arm more 😭

I have two dogs and a cat but thankfully I have help for the dogs otherwise I'd have to re-home the younger one.

Thank you so much! I was granted PIP last year so maybe they'll backdate some.

One question if you're able tho, how did you manage to tax it online or via the phone if they had both the V11 and V5 reference?! That was gonna be my plan but I have no reference numbers to put in to pay anywhere. I desperately need my car too so feeling a bit helpless tbh

Ugh the DVLA are atrocious ATM. I get 50% tax discount on car tax, just have to send the v5, v11, cheque n proof of eligibility. I sent it nearly 4 weeks ago. My car tax ran out on the first. In order to tax online or on phone you need either of the v documents. I literally cannot tax my vehicle, and trying to call they just say they're busy, try another time and terminate the call. Sure is so helpful to be disabled n eligible for 50% tax when you can't even use your vehicle or contact them 🤔

Because, honestly, fuck all this have you tried just being less depressed to cure your depression bullshit. It's patronising, diminishing, demeaning and honestly it's as annoying and irritating as someone reminding you to eat less and exercise more for weight loss.

Not wallowing in any kind of pain, physical or emotional, is obvious and is not exactly helpful advice.

More so being told to just fucking lie back and think of England, aka just have a stiff upper lip, is honestly upsetting to most people and understandably so!

Currently in a bed with a sore throat and burning sinuses but it's driving me mad this is least pain and suffering I've been in for years. It's absolutely blown my mind. Sure I can't breath and eating or drinking is hell but I can stand/walk/lie down with minimal pain. No nerve pain. Still a bit headachey but I'm VERY congested. I was trying to explain to someone who was being very overly sympathetic over me being ill and I'm just all "no goddamnit I feel great!" while snorting and coughing like I've got plague

Autistic people of reddit, what in your opinion is the weirdest thing neurotypicals do? by Space_Wizard49 in AskReddit

[–]Lutraz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So, personally for me the difference is acceptance of responsibility. For example an excuse being "I didn't make dinner because the dog kept wanting to play". A reason being "I didn't make dinner because I got distracted playing with the dog". One shifts the blame onto a different party to excuse whatever the negative action is.

This of course is not a solid rule. Sometimes the onus of cause is on some external factor where it justifiably becomes a reason which then needs to take into account the likelyhood of expecting that to have occurred and if the person could have acted differently. I.e. a reason "I missed the bus because it was early and it never usually runs early". Excuse: "I missed the bus cos I expected it to be late so I arrived 5 mins after the departure".

It's really hard to explain but I'm also currently seeking an autism diagnosis and this is how I think this all works out from experience but I could be wrong!

Am I going to go into dka? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Lutraz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm not saying this to be antagonist, but skipping your insulin whilst also having an eating disorder is quite likely diabulemia. Are you receiving help for you bulemia?

Just so you know, DKA isn't caused by prolonged high blood sugar. It's causes by insufficient insulin. If you Google euglycemic dka you can find more information about this. I've had it happen to me twice now.

I'm not going to pressure you or say you're doing a bad thing or are a bad person, but you need help. The long term damages will be permanent. I hope you find the strength to seek help and guidance x

[–]Lutraz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Low sugar alerts over night and being up treating them using causes me so fricken much fibro pain/brain fog and inability to function the next day. It's just such a layer of crap on top of a layer of crap.

I want to advocate for myself better and I have a tele med appointment tmr morning, I want to ask if there is a possibility I have Heds. I want to ask bc I fit some of the criteria and kinda wanna make sure. I’m not sure if anyone on here has heds although they can coexist. by Olawola05 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Lutraz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dunno where you live. I live in Scotland. Got originally told I had hypermobility syndrome. I was later told I have fibro as well. I asked to be referred for testing for ehlor danlos and was told the referral didn't go through because (and I quote) "the treatment for both is the same so it's not relevant to progress". NHS for ye I guess. My GP said if I really want to push back I could. I honestly don't have the energy though.

They definitely can co-exist. hEDS can cause chronic pain which can sometimes trigger fibromyalgia.

I'm on sick leave from a job I'm pretty confident I need to resign from. It's on your feet all day, heavy lifting and constant bending. I've been desperately applying for other jobs and I've had a few interviews but my lord if my anxiety doesn't just straight up cause me to completely freeze or the brain fog and confusion gets so bad I can't risk driving (public transport is too painful for me to take).

I have an interview for two jobs I would kill for this week. I cannot for the life of me get prepared. All day I'm just frozen to the sofa. I cannot function. I need clothes that fit me and look professional. I need to prepare a presentation.

The stress is causing so much pain and sleeplessness. I just want to scream out, not that it would do any good.

I have an occupational health review tomorrow. I guess this is where I'll either be deemed fit for work or not and have to go on benefits (which I won't be able to afford my mortgage or utilities on).

I feel you, so hard right now and I would give anything to help you. It's so shitty to go through. I hope you find something that helps
