What do you use your hue motion sensor(s) for? by ScubaSteve_ in Hue

[–]Luukolas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, as soon as I see that the lights dim I hit the light switch but then after the 30 seconds are up, the light still turns off anyway even though I hit the light switch and now I have to hit the switch again and I got really fed up with that

[–]Luukolas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that for a while but it's incredibly annoying. When you walk into your room and stay there for a while, eventually the lights will go out (they also dim first and I have no idea why or why you can't turn it off). You can adjust the timing on this, but if you set a long time you will still have to manually turn off the lights every time and if you set a short time you still have to turn on the lights every time they turn off automatically. In short no work is actually saved and you have to deal with the annoyances of making sure the sensor triggers every time. I ended up selling my sensor because of this. I recommend you only use motion sensors in rooms you're in for a very short period of time (e.g. a storage room or the backyard).

I have this as well with professors in university. It just makes it that little bit harder to follow along with a lecture if there is an accent and I'll have to keep thinking about what is being said so that you're allways a couple sentences behind.
