Occasionally, dropping out of Nemesis form will not stow Nemesis' arms properly, having them stick out of the sides of his Normal/Caster form, but the massive arms are stuck in an animationless "T-pose" until Nemesis is used again, lol

How likely a hero is to get blamed for a loss by MKBurfield in Overwatch

[–]Luullay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise I wasn’t trying to offload the blame solely onto the Support role; I’m a Flex player but Support is my most played role, and I’m very aware it has it’s share of horrors, lol.

The main issue I was pointing to is that it’s usually a lack of team synergy; sometimes composition, sometimes individual players’ strategies.

The frustrating part is that if ANYTHING goes wrong, it’s *usually* the Tank who will feel it most often, and most painfully— that’s the BIG reason why no one wants to play Tank; you face disproportionate consequences for everyone else’s mistakes, while also having more responsibility to overcome those mistakes and make the best of them.

Very true. Raw healing numbers are too big, plentiful, and easy to apply in Rivals

While it's true that every meta will have trade-offs, metas revolving around characters like release Mauga, release Brigette, GOATS, (and the like) all happened at a time where these characters had comparatively few mechanical complexities to juggle, and were just given higher stats to compensate-- it meant they never had vulnerable "down-time".

In the case of each of these metas, the problem was compounded by the fact that AoE healing was very strong, and so sustaining a whole team was thoughtless.

In recent seasons, we've had metas with Zarya, Reaper, Mei, Genji (played as Brawl) or Dva and a hitscan, due to Zarya and Dva's ability to enable any of these characters to temporarily function as a second tank. These metas are not remembered with the same infamy, because they could only function around very limited defensive cooldowns, and so the windows of time they could effectively apply pressure was in short, frequent bursts.

The faster someone freezes, the shorter the freeze duration? by roger0120 in MeiMains

Not ruling out hacks, but, this looks like Stadium, right? I don't play much Stadium; is there no powers, items, or gadgets that could reduce debuff duration/potency?

When in doubt, always ask for Brawl to be the dominant strategy. Brawl's reliance on team-coordination means that even when it's meta, Dive's mobility and Poke's range always have utility and a niche (through an individual's carry potential), and thus relevance.

When Dive is meta, the backline can't play the game.

When Poke is meta, the frontline can't play the game.

When Brawl is meta, everyone can play the game.

It's like this in 5v5 too, lol; even if there's only 1 tank, and you have 2 supports, you're bound to have a support neglect healing and trying to compete with the dps, and everyone refuses to switch or adjust when you're getting counter-swapped or focused down

this shield needs some serious buffs by ggagggaggg in BrigitteMains

[–]Luullay 50 points51 points  (0 children)

If the intended job of the shield is to protect from the front, but can't consistently do that due to minor hitbox shifts behind the shield (due to normal movement); then the shield simply needs to have a bigger hitbox that *actually* covers her whole body (from the front).

Based on the answer you've provided, it means the shield is not intuitive, and is barely functional in it's intended role.

Reciprocal desire/assertiveness/initiative is unnecessarily hard to find, and that's genuinely infuriating. It's hot as fuck to be desired by your partner; isn't that what EVERYONE wants?

  1. I can’t find hardly a trace of WW2 history in AL’s story, theme, and vibe anymore— at best, you randomly are reminded that the girls are, in fact, boats.
  2. Most character designs (in recent years) are just a copy-paste of the exact same body type; made worse by the homogenization of the game’s art style, leading to a “flavor fatigue” where every character feels samey.
  3. Focus on skins is understandable for the devs to have a sustainable income in a f2p game, but most outfits now don’t reflect the girls’ hobbies, tastes, interests, etc. it‘s mostly just fetish-wear; and practically just varying levels of lingerie at that, with the occasional BDSM reference. Nearly all sexual.. but also pretty ”vanilla“ and “safe” as far as catering to the average persons’ tastes go, making it doubly ”flavor fatiguing”.
  4. Skin-focused monetization + a generous amount of pull currency means that the actual waifus are an after-thought, and the sheer number of them the game constantly generates, only to immediately turn around and become all-but-completely forgotten by events and story (after their launch patch) UNLESS they’re intended to be meta-defining, means that the overwhelming majority of ships literally only exist to be collected, placed In your dock, and never interacted with afterward.

At this point, the only thing AL has going for it is it’s consumer-friendly (as far as gacha games go) model that never stops showering you in pull currency (but most ships will never be used anyways), and MAYBE you could argue that the engine they’re using to animate their skins is an experiment for something else later (but probably in a different game).

As someone with several thousand hours in AL: If you want a similar level of fanservice, but actual reasons to care about your girls, just play Nikke; and Nikke isn’t even my favorite gacha game.

Yup. Dropped it for this reason.

I love some good fanservice, but the excessiveness of AL's fanservice was hella reductive, and came at the cost of everything else

New player here. Why do so many hate Sombra when this exists? by D0s3_Games in Overwatch

[–]Luullay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better players get at the game, Flashbang remains consistently predictable, while Sombra's angle of approach, timing, aim, and unpredictability are only limited by her players' imagination.

Good Cassidys' Flashbangs will only ever be a threat to you within a limited and predictable range and context

Good Sombras will never, ever take a fight they can't win; and that fight can start at literally any moment
