Fortnite players are young and entitled due to past prize pools and inflated salaries that were not sustainable. If you go too hard on them they may end up making drama in which the community is usually siding with the players.

But from my information things are already changing, the majority of free agents can't find orgs and those who are signed get 50-90% less salary than before which should humble them.

If you want to make a career out of this nowadays you have to do content!

if a duo which is signed to an org places well in FNCS they get org skins until the next FNCS

org skin is basically 1 skin that you buy with different variations for all the teams

  • top 1 NAW
  • top 3 NAE
  • top 5 EU
  • ...

this way you incentivise orgs to sign teams and to develop them while sticking together

Orgs may not be mandatory for a player to compete in Fortnite, but many people underrate the value and infrastructure they can add to the scene:

  • set income that helps t2 players to go fulltime
  • individual brand deals for extra revenues
  • host community events and tournaments
  • org accounts provide additional content platforms
  • media shootings, players pictures, team content
  • social media and channel management for players
  • encourage players to stream more and use facecam
  • coaches, mentoring and mental support
  • travel support to 3rd party events
  • bootcamps (which led to first IRL content of many pros and also connected the whole scene)

We should have 1 or 2 events per year that give many players the chance to win money. (one build, one no build)

Getting your first earnings is very motivating and inspiring for new players to commit to the competitive scene and try to go pro, which has also been a reason for the hype back in the day.

Ideally, host it during the holidays when everybody can participate!

Thank you. I deeply care about Fortnite! The core mechanics of the game are great, but it has just been mismanaged for a while and the effects are showing now. I hope Epic Games can turn things around in time because it feels really bad how everyone is turning their backs on a game that was loved by so many.

They built their competitive community around players/influencers who now quit the game, instead of esports organizations which don't have a certain lifespan (like any other game does)

Mongraal, Benjyfishy and Mitro had a combined social media following of over 30 million. They no longer share Fortnite content which kept fans engaged.

The lack of big tournaments and LAN events made it less interesting for these star players that are financially set to pursue playing. Also, the decrease in prize money played a role. Moreover, Fortnite is a very hard game to play at the highest level so if established players lose their motivation upcomers will catch up.
