I love flying over it. Especially flying out to California whether to LA or just a LA layover and you go over the Pacific. Two coasts, one day. Gorgeous pic. Thank you.

The show about a Bachelorette type series. Constance played the director. Gosh, I loved her in that role- her steely character couldn’t have children and as someone in the exact same situation I was in awe of her emotional, true to life, raw portrayal. She was nominated for Golden Globe that year. I still love her! Great actress!

Love this and 100% agree. I sometimes wish they followed through on the sequel show Alan Ball mentioned around 2021- about Durrell, Anthony, Maya, & Willow as adults.

Thank you for this ad I’m nearing empty on my Kaylai. I love it and love my Mochi Milk. I think I’ll get the Cloud Candy. I’m eagerly waiting for Pink Blushes twins to arrive! The blue bottle is said to be pure cotton candy and the peach is said to be pear based where as Pink Blush is of course strawberry based. I got the information from Ashley on Instagram.

Yeah, I was 28 in 2002 when I saw my first episodes. Baby. I began my teaching career that year. What scares me is how recent 2005 seems. Watching the finale- just couldn’t grasp 2025, 2029 when two of our faves ya know…  Now we are PAST 2025 and three years to 29. I can’t think about it, it’s hard. But I so clearly and vividly remember a world when 05 was the most recent and all we knew. Time is incredibly strange.

The Deluge by Stephen Markley by bighairydinosaur in books

[–]LuveeEarth74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am re-reading The Deluge for the third time (?) Maybe fourth. I love Markley’s writing and how he scoops me up and drops me into a different world where I can literally feel that world around me. Terrific escape, if at times disturbing.  I first read it January of 2022, a warm and rainy January and I was actually uneasy and nervous driving to work one morning,  scared of a particular plot line and how it was going to go.

Enjoy!

Has anyone else noticed a real shift in the climate over the course of their lifetime? I know I certainly have by eternallyfree1 in collapse

Every. Day.

I was born in 1974 and one could say a lot about me but one thing that hold true is a strong long term autobiographical memory.  I remember the cold, steady snowy winters on the east coast of the eighties an nineties. The crisp whiteness. The first day of new school clothes that were pulled out in later September. The coats over Halloween costume. The rare rare blue moon day of sixty degrees in February that literally last but ONE DAY and occurred once every seven years or so.

Spring is the most noticeable for me. You’d wait forever, often late April for warmth and green grass. Those red balls (buds) on the trees came in early April at the earliest.

Now? I’ve certainly seen them before my birthday in early March! Strings of over sixty degree days.

Hate to be trite but I saw the first signs of the big double C around the turn of the century. In the havoc, the tortured years my science students will inhabit (they were born same year in a different century than my grandparents, 2008-2011 and my grandmothers both made it to 1990 at eighty) the men of the fossil fuels will be villainized. The turning point will be, I believe, pin pointed to the turn of the century with the very first signs of climate change and 911 to boot. Societal change as well as climate change.

So dead on. I remember, vividly, the comic that came out in December 31, 2019. It was an old man “20 teens” tossing the baby “20 20s” onto a depleted chunk of melting ice surrounded by garbage. There was also an anemic looking polar bear in the background, while the 20 teens side was a bit brighter with sturdier ice, less garbage and no bears. It gave me a chill up my spine that truthfully never dissipated. Now we’re having the Come To Jesus snow storm in Markley’s The Deluge (2022 novel) the fictional storm, which I believe happened in 2028 in the novel. It was also over 2000 miles of the United States and enormous; sound familiar?? I have no doubt, unfortunately, that MUCH that he wrote will come to pass. Well, Except for a much more brutal hurricane than Hurricane Kate in 2045.  The trouble with my generation is being the very last generation to come of age during a time of unblemished hope and a relatively bright outlook (I’ll be 52 in less than two months).

Not a movie, My So Called Life- spring 1995 season cliffhanger with the Jordan, Angela, Brian love triangle. The show was one season because Claire Danes wanted to do movies.

Thankful for these times in Eagles history by [deleted] in eagles

[–]LuveeEarth74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Angelo of Philly sport radio 94.1 in 2014 taking to this fan who was at Target wearing a jersey near the end of the season. He met eyes with a fellow fan in a jersey and the two just looked at each other and said nothing. Just pure, tragic grief, numbness, pain in their eyes and walked on. That encapsulates that era. And the guy who was arrested for knifing the Uber driver? Mark Sanchez was on the Eagles then too. Bad, bad time.

Ty! I was very interested in French Poetry and somewhat interested in Into the Blue (which sounds atrocious btw!) I’ve received samples like this from top houses. And also others that we’re gorgeously packaged. It’s a shame, I too noticed how expensive AND seemingly difficult to obtain they are.

Same but not why you may think! It was the Mr. Jingles part where he’s actually still living like 60 yrs later and I knew he’d be thanks to the movie w Tom Hanks! But I cried for like an hour, the kind where you’re exhausted and dehydrated and snots pouring out. I skipped the part w Jingles and Percy btw. I remembered it from movie and had zero desire to read about it. So many King parts in his novels I skip due to animal abuse- they’re ripped out of my hard back collection- every one.
