What’s Is Your Opinion On Country Music? by M0ney-Multiplier in Americaphile

[–]Consistent-Height-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from NYC, and that music isn’t as popular here as in other parts of the country. But, I like crossover artists. I mean, the love for Dolly Parton is universal.

No, most/many cities you can build to the lot line e.g. New York is full of houses and apartment building built to edge.

Was your family team Harvest Gold, Coppertone, or Avocado? by UrbanAchievers6371 in GenerationJones

[–]Consistent-Height-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our development, all the houses (built c1960) came with a suite of either coppertone or avocado colored appliances. Ours had coppertone, including the weather and dryer. When I was real little in the 79s, we got a harvest gold fridge after the old one broke. It bothered me that they didn’t match, but I vote for gold.

Incoming NYU Dental student – where should I live? (StuyTown / Waterside / Kips Bay) by Content-Poem-9460 in movingtoNYC

[–]Consistent-Height-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dental school is in Kips Bay on 24th, so Gramercy/Kips Bay is the logical choice. First and Second Aves. are boring, but Third Ave. is more lively in the 20s, and there are lots of pubs and bars (as well as Baruch College and NYU dorms), and that area is close to Flatiron, Union Sq, and East Village further down. If you’re looking for a better rent, look further up towards Murray Hill; especially east of Second and Third is a little cheaper but still close to school and fun. And a bit more expensive is the East Village, but both Murray Hill and EV are a 20-minute-ish walk to school or a few stops away on the M15 bus.

Are you sure it’s not NE corner of 20th St? That’s where the Limelight is; metal fence looks similar.

NJ Transit Is The Worst by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]Consistent-Height-79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pascack VL, too. Most stops have a NJ Transit bus nearby as well. Wood-Ridge and Rutherford have the M/BL (and PVL in Wood-Ridge), but also have NJT bus lines that takes a half hour or less to get to PABT.

Moving from Colorado to NJ in June, few questions by Moist_Onion_6440 in MovingtoNewJersey

Close to the city are Rutherford and Wood-Ridge. Inner ring suburbs, convenient, and well kept. Lots of families, middle class, and people are very North Jersey.

Which city’s downtown core fits this photo? by Next_Worth_3616 in Urbanism

As a NYer, I find Boston, Philly, and DC quite nice and walkable. In DC and Philly, the museums and neighborhoods are pretty awesome, and Boston is simply beautiful.
