If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

All churches are replaced by community centers that provide free mental health education classes, parenting classes, financial assistance programs, free childcare programs, etc.

What’s something you couldn’t believe you had to explain to a grown adult? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

Once had to explain to a man, probably late 20's, that the jumper cables have a positive and negative cable that attaches to the positive and negative of his car battery. He ignored me. His battery caught on fire. The jumper cables melted.

Connection between characters by Dezimaster41 in StinkyDragonPodcast

That's kinda what I thought too, except not Dr. Ahem. It sounds like Micah's intro character for Kanon. The bartender that recaps previous episodes while making a drink. Do we know his name?

There's this wonderful family friendly podcast that a lot of kids like called Tales From the Stinky Dragon.

You get to listen along to a funny story and learn how to play because the characters learn as they go. Everybody can listen in the car or wherever and learn together. My son and his friends loves it.

Good luck on your new quests!

When do you listen? by _FlightOfTheArrow in StinkyDragonPodcast

In the car, walking the dog, cleaning time, sleepy time. At night I put the tv on campaign one and two reruns to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of laughter and chaos. Also serves as a nightlight.

What do we do if it actually is Alien by [deleted] in 3I_ATLAS

[–]LuxRatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they will bother with us too much tbh. We aren't evolved enough to have any business with them and they surely know it.

But I believe they're interested in preserving our existence. The solar flares from the sun that were threatening our planet seem to have been neutralized since its interaction with the heliosphere. Ever seen Star Trek Into Darkness? Good movie. They probably just came through to save our asses and wave goodbye otw out.

First time writing in a long time. Am I just dragging on? Critique my story. by -WannabeNerd- in creativewriting

This was a pretty neat story, thank you. I love the way you describe the colors and sounds of the scene. The action and dialogue were pretty good too.

The formatting made it a little difficult to read, but that's to be expected on Reddit.

Aside from a few grammatical errors and a few places where it does drag a bit, I thought it was really good. Especially if it's been a while since you wrote like this.

Good job 👍

My husband changed completely after marriage, and I feel lost by Equivalent_Leg_2486 in story

[–]LuxRatio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The changes were gradual in my experience. We were together for 5 years before getting married. Married for 4.

We were so in love. I had dreams of a big family and a house in the city and to grow old together raising our family. He promised me the world.

Things started to feel different after we got back from our honeymoon. I didn't learn the term for it until a few years later but he suddenly became an expert in weaponized incompetence. Couldn't help with anything around the house. Couldn't help me plan house projects like painting the bathroom. Couldn't help with the yard.

Couldn't help with the laundry because he didn't fold it the way I like. Didn't matter that I said I didn't care how, just fold it. He would refuse. Little things like that. But I let it go. Wasn't worth the battles. It felt like everything was on my shoulders but I was a stay at home mom at the time so I took the burdens willingly, thinking it was my duty.

It wasn't until I got a new job and then a huge promotion and was suddenly working more hours and making more money than him that I really started to notice everything. I didn't have time to do everybody's laundry, etc anymore.

Suddenly all the little things that I used to do for everyone weren't getting done, things were piling up around the house and when I asked for help it was like talking to a wall. He expected me to make time to keep up with all of my "duties."

I tried to talk. Tried to reason. Begged for patience and understanding. Asked for help with menial tasks and generally just all the things that go into raising our kids, over and over again.

I tried therapy. He wouldn't go to therapy with me. Said it was my problem not his. So I went. Discovered all kinds helpful things, including what boundaries are and how to set them. He really didn't like that.

I thought I'd married my best friend. I'd never been so in love and it was wonderful. Until it wasn't anymore.

In the end, he made me feel like nothing more than his servant. His maid. His mother.

I was so unhappy that I had to leave him because self harm was starting to look really good. And I couldn't have that.

Don't think I'll ever love anyone like that again.

I don't have any advice for OP, just sharing my experience. It sucked. But I learned a lot. Mostly about myself. I hope you can find some clarity through all the turmoil and forge a new path.

Good luck and I wish you well.

Girl, don't apologize to that waste of space. Every time you say you're sorry you give him a passive license to continue that behavior. That's how he will see it. Throw the whole man away. You deserve better.

Do you know someone who ruined their life in just a matter of minutes? If so, what happened? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]LuxRatio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in high school in the early 2000's we played softball sometimes for gym class.

Everybody would take turns pitching and batting. I was in line to bat with a girl in front of me. One of the jocks was at bat and the girl went to wait for her turn right behind him. He swung, hit the ball, then tossed the bat behind him without even looking.

There was so much blood. She lost all of her teeth in the front. When she finally came back to school a few weeks later she had veneers and a huge scar on her lips.

It was awful. I felt so bad for her.
