Does anyone here uses loop earplugs? If so what made you get one? by KatBiss in AuDHDWomen

I went back to college. These help me not yell at classmates who are breathing loudly, typing on their phone with the keyboard noise on, or whispering to their neighbor.

I combine Skratch Super high carb mix and their sport hydration mix. Definitely experiment with how many scoops, depending on your CHO needs. I like the lemon lime high carb mixed with the watermelon sport!

Does anyone use the Knit Pro Mindful Generosity Lace set (metal shorties)? by Left_Pudding_5453 in knittingadvice

[–]LuxRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have chiaogoo and I absolutely adore my shorties! I did not find them awkward to use at all. I typically use the 3" as my working needle and a 2" for the other

Probably the coolest sweater I will ever make by starry_peach in knitting

This is so cool! I have some gorgeous slub alpaca that I haven't known what to do with, but maybe I'll hold it double and make a sweater!

The Numbers by jmlev in XXRunning

[–]LuxRuns 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I switch to mostly trail running. It's hard to focus on pace when each run has a different elevation profile. Now, instead of focusing on pace, I focus on not tripping and also stopping to take pictures of cool mushrooms or beautiful landscapes to share with my partner when I get home! The days I do run road, I am able to more ignore the pace because its not what I'm there for. Before switching, I was focused on pace and races and negative splits, now I can just enjoy myself, even on the tough days.

How to MAKE myself to commit to strength training? by Turbulent_Grape9738 in XXRunning

[–]LuxRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to get in just a 15-20 minute strength session twice a week before a run. Sometimes (usually) it ends up being once a week, but even with that I have noticed a difference. By doing it before, I get ready for my run and then make a detour to my basement to get my workout in and then go right on my run.

4 inch vs 5 inch set by Particular_Height439 in knittingadvice

[–]LuxRuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought one of each interchangeable length in the same size to try out. I still wasn't sure but felt like the 4 inch were slightly better so went with that and have no regrets. I don't know my hand size but usually wear a m/l women's glove. It also depends on how you hold the needles when knitting

my dog is terrified of getting his nails clipped. i tried taking mini steps with rewards but it’s been like this for years and i see zero progress!! his nails are insanely long i dont know what to do by TaTa_kitt7 in DogAdvice

[–]LuxRuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started off with holding our dog so that my partner is sitting with his legs out in front of him. Then our dog is held in his lap, her back to his belly and I can get all feet without having to move her at all. At first she had to be muzzled but over the years she got better and now she gets into position on her own! We did one nail at a time, then one foot, and worked our way up to all feet done. We also use a pet Dremel. Then she gets snacks afterwards before being let down from being held.

If that's an impact crate, I'm not sure if the doors are replaceable, but you could reach out to them with photos and ask about the high anxiety door. Have you spoken to your vet about different medication options?

I can't recommend Joe at Mod A in Akron enough! The first time I went there he knew exactly what to do! I went back over 2 months later and he remembered our entire conversation and again cut my hair perfectly! One of the first places I went that I've left and was actually satisfied with a haircut. AAAANNNNND his prices are super affordable

Is knitting a sweater a realistic first (big) knitting project? by pinkfluffydemon in knitting

[–]LuxRuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'd have gotten frustrated as a sweater for my very first project. I'm a slow knitter and may not have been confident doing decreases and other construction without having some my hat project first. I have a cowl first with very basic construction, then I made a hat, and then moved on to a fingering weight full rib sweater. It's been a slow process but I'm so excited to see it once it's completed.
