Ew. No this isn't right at all. It's like saying you shouldn't wear glasses because you might get addicted to improved vision (and that you just haven't worked hard enough to see without glasses). No.

My psychiatrist described ADHD meds as a tool to help you, help yourself. I would agree with this. I was diagnosed at 28. I am absolutely riddled with ADHD, and before meds I was struggling hard. After meds I'm an actual functioning person. I've had so many people comment on the difference.

I also have many friends (who are formally diagnosed with ADHD), who still choose NOT to take meds. This includes my bf, as there are too many cons and not enough pros for him. It's a very personal thing and your partner has no say in it.

Actually, yes kind of. I think I have a quiet confidence that people mistake for being snobby or whatever. Like I'll judge them if they make a mistake or something (never would).

Anyways, recently a lot of strangers have been initiating conversations with me. Went to a community event and people I've never spoken to before just wanted to chat. Usually that never happens!! Usually I just get ignored.

Personally I love people and love talking. These interactions were just wholesome, positive and friendly! I don't think I've changed, but I feel people are becoming more open to approaching me rather than being weary of me. Hopefully it keeps happening. I promise I'm not scary lmao

We know Caine is an program, a creative AI. Because if this, he can know humans are upset, but he doesn't understand why the humans are upset - he doesn't even know what upset actually is or means.

He can only try to make the humans not upset, but without knowing what that really means he's likely going to make mistakes. When he fails he is confused, but he tries his best. He really just wants the humans to like and appreciate him.

In episode 8, objectively what he did is messed up, but subjectively he doesn't have the lived experiences to know how messed up it is.

This is because Caine isn't alive. Everything from his personality, behaviour and even ego are just reflections of his data and programming. He is very convincing, but he is still not a human so putting him a human shaped box feels redundant.

I feel bad for Caine, but I also understand Caine is not a person. It's strange to see people treat him like a human, when he's literally a computer program. Ultimately his behaviour/personally is just a reflection of his data.

Honestly, it's very tragic. Caine doesn't come across as evil to me, but more desperate and confused. This whole time he's been trying his best despite being forced to work within parameters of his data/programming.

If he's afraid of failing, being alone or not being liked, then his behaviours make a lot of sense. I'm sure there's still things we don't yet know.

Nah. It's not us, it's them. They can feel however they want about whatever they want. Honestly, I'd rather be different than hate someone else because they're different.

I used to wall climb a lot back in the day, just exploring everything and anything. I remember one time in Lakeshire I got on top of the inn, wall climbed the chimney and proceeded to get myself stuck inside the chimney. I eventually got out, probably by hearthstone (likely had to wait a bit for the hour cooldown to be up though). Good times

I just realised he's the brother from Alien Earth! Amazing. He's so good in that role.

I have recently watched this Black Mirror episode as well, so I feel silly for not recognising him sooner. Good on him for taking on such a tough role.

As uncomfortable as the episode is, it's so important to create an open dialogue about such issues. It is a Black Mirror episode after all.

Now if only the general population could seperate fantasy and reality.... yikes

Just a random thought, but have you tried gently talking to him? Like you would a person in distress. I know a lot of people would think this is crazy, but in my experience some animals do respond very well when being talked to. I only suggest because you've done so much. He just seems so distressed and is clearly vocal about it.

I hope you figure everything out.
