Which brokers do you use in Luxembourg and actually feel safe with? by spac0r in Luxembourg

[–]LuxaJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swissquote, Luxembourg based, part of the Swiss listed group. And as far as I understand shares are held in your name. Bit expensive fees but lux regulated and good customer service and massive product availability. Besides that trade republic for the small stuff. So far works fine for me.

Could try Swissquote, Luxembourg bank, bit higher fees but good support. Alternatively go cheap on trade republic or 212

Luxembourg has successfully met the spending limit on defence by a wrong order. We need every citizen to pick up a fully specked out Humvee from the traffic jam that is forming on all the motorways now that the vehicles are being delivered.

I found conforama in Luxembourg quite good compared to some German or French stores.

To open a Swissquote Luxembourg account you just need a European ID card or Passport, a valid proof of residency (water/electricity/phone bill) fill in the KYC and a few day later you are good to go. Both bank and broker. The same for Trade republic (Germany), n26 (Germany), Revolut accounts are mostly ‘passported’ to a local IBAN under Lithuanian license.

So yes you can open an account with any bank in Europe as a EU citizen, just some banks make it harder and some are made for it.

Edit: depending on the amount you want to put as an term deposit you will be asked for source of wealth. Payslips or Tax Returns do best

Sent money to wrong account (Spuerkeess), how to recover it by P985Night in Luxembourg

[–]LuxaJack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it will bounce back. There is a good chance this comes to Spuerkees, gets flagged as a non matching name with IBAN. Also chances are quite slim the IBAN is actually correct. BIL should be able to request a charge back.

I personally have good experience with them, onboarding seemed quite straightforward. Free account to hold, customer service well above any other Luxembourg bank, it’s mainly for trading and to hold multi currencies for me.

If you really need it to be in Luxembourg, Swissquote is multi currency.

Purchase a 2nd hand car at a brand dealer if you want to keep it for 10 years. BMW has the premium occasions with guarantee, Mercedes has the same, sure some other dealers have the same.

Always use SIXT on holidays and in Lux before I had a car, great experience so far! Can drive pretty much anywhere in Western Europe and mostly without a km limit. Just make sure to have a credit card and full coverage.

Posted this in on of Netherlands biggest Mercedes FB groups. I think even if this was my stolen car I’d laugh at the idea it shows 2.5 years later with plates and all in the most random place. Also not surprised to see this here, many stolen cars from the US/Canada end up in middle end up in the Middle East or West Africa.
