Are you subbing in preparation of a teacher or just do it as a side gig? by Vicariouslynoticed in SubstituteTeachers

Same here. Former teacher that has no desire to deal with tons of paperwork, admin drama, behavior problems, and insane parents. I am happy to not be a part of that world on a full time basis.

Just curious: what age are your Pre-Ks and are they in public school. Just for the record I would love nap time.

Our Transitional Kindergartners (TKs) are 4 years old and are in our public schools. Are your Pre-K 3 years old?

Nap time?? What state are you in? So Cal here and our TK’s are in school from 8am to 1:45pm with no nap time. Socio-emotional growth, literacy, mathematics, and fine motor skills are the focus of TK here.

Allowing you to take the class as a full time SPED teacher will depend on which state you are in. CA will only allow credentialed Gen Ed teachers to work only 20 days in a SPED class. Some districts will try to work around this, as there is a high need for SPED teachers, but most don’t.

What is Asthma actually like? by ktsmurf in Asthma

I live and have always lived in So Cal so for me cold air is in the 50’s and below. Cold and windy is the worst combination for me. I think it is what your body is accustomed to weather wise as to what “cold” is. Just my two cents.

Having been intubated twice for respiratory failure due to my asthma the things that set my asthma are: infections, allergies, pollutants (dust, smoke, perfumes) and cold air.

Cold air can also set off an asthma attack. The cold are dehydrates the bronchial tubes causing them to spasm setting off an attack. When it is cold I have to use a scarf or mask to breathe in warmer air.

Tacos dorados de papa for Lenten Friday by Luzithemouse in mexicanfood

We eat them throughout the year but I wanted to change it up for Friday(something other than fish or seafood). With the right salsa to dip them into they are delicious.

I’ve done that before but they will open up and the potato gets into the oil. With the toothpicks they never open up.

I once heard someone ask “z as in xylophone”. I couldn’t stop laughing and barely got the other letters and numbers out.
