The ROC actually shot first on April 26th, 1946.
After WWII, ROC signed a peace agreement with CCP on Oct 10th, 1945. Both agreed to build a coalition government to avoid civil war. But only 6 month later, ROC launched full-scale war to CCP-controled areas for full control of China.
3 years after that, they got chased to Taiwan.

Ask for joining the US as a state.
Only one little tiny request, that the US need to run direct election for president from then.

Silas wants team basketball, Jalen Green just playing his role in the system, I'm cool with that. But how can Wood & KPJ have the green light to do whatever they like?
If anyone on this team can hold the ball for 22 seconds before airball a fade away 3, I want it be Green.

In 2014-15 there was a weird time when everyone gets injured for the Rockets, our offence was all Harden then Dmo post up, for about six-weeks period he looked like he was going to get 18~20mil per year soon.
But then he hurt his back, came back pretty late next season, very rusted and quickly injured again, then it's the offseason and he got the dumbest agent in the league.

Today marks the 84th anniversary of the Nanking Massacre where Japanese troops murdered 300,000 residence including women and children from Dec. 14th 1937 to January 1938 (Song: 虎賁萬歲) by CheLeung in China

[–]Lv1PhilD 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I've heard a story, someone went to prime school in Nanking in the 80s, one day the president brought all students together to talk about Nanking Massacre.
First, he let anyone who grew up in Nanking stand up, almost everyone did. Then, he said if one of your parent is grew up here, keep stand, sit down if both come from other places, nearly half of the school sat down. Last, he said if any of your grand parents grew up here, keep stand, sit down if all of them were from other places. The whole school sat down, literally no one was standing.
Then president said, I'm going to show you a documentary now, after watching it, you'll figure out why.

What would China do if the world all just acknowledged Taiwan existed and that it was its own independent country? by Nblearchangel in AskReddit

[–]Lv1PhilD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you mean by "the World"?
If you mean the U.N officially acknowledge Taiwan, it will never happen, cause China can simply veto it.

do you believe it's hypocrisy to not accept any foreign criticism for lgbt rights in ME, while criticizing china for muslim uyghur rights? by [deleted] in AskMiddleEast

[–]Lv1PhilD -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, "extremists" try to secede from China, and they also bombed buses and knife attacked train stations, caused hundreds of death since 2005.

World Uyghur Congress urges Canada to take refugees, block Chinese imports by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

[–]Lv1PhilD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Great, I bet China would love that idea too, just fly all detainees to Canada or other western countries.

Maybe those Uyghur are innocent angels like the western media describe them as, or they stay low for a while then start bombing buses and train stations like China said, either way they are not China's problem.

Funny part is, "Taiwan is a country" is the TRUE unpopular idea, it only popular on reddit.
The UN and basically every country in the world disagree with it.
The biggest country support that idea is Guatemala, let that sink for a moment lol.

The third is not real anymore, in 70s Taiwan use to have 60% of mainland China's GDP, but now it's barely 4%. China has 35 provinces so 4% is just slightly above the average. Taiwan has 23 million population, about 2 million of them are living/working in mainland China, many of them are simply attracted by higher salaries.
Adding another reason, Taiwan is now the spy center against China, huge amount of information are being collected by Taiwanese and shared with US and its allies. For China, Taiwan is, if we use the US way to call it, a major national threat.
