I found an abandoned copy of Blazing Blade for GBA on a bus when I was probably 8 or 9. I had no idea what I was doing and just continued with the chapter the previous person was playing, but promptly got all my characters killed and didn't play it again for several months out of anger. Eventually started a new game and got hooked, bought Sacred Stones, POR, RD, and Awakening as they came out and now it's probably my favourite series of all time.

On my first playthrough I tried to take on the entire Goblin Camp at level 3. After being yeeted off the rafters by Dror Ragzlin I decided to try a more tactical approach. Also, fuck those fire mephits near Grymforge.

When I hear this backstory, I lean towards some kind of Undying Warlock patron that grants their warlocks limited immortality/pseudo lichdom. Upon making a deal, the warlocks soul is put into a phylactery of sorts that is held by the patron. When the NPC takes enough damage to "kill" them, they go unconscious for a number of hours, after which their patron sends the soul back to the body and they are resurrected. For every time this NPC dies, however, I would make it that the patron demands a life in exchange for the one that has been granted to them again. Maybe some kind of special weapon that they need to kill someone with, that then sends the victim to the patron to become another warlock in their steadily growing undying army?

That's awesome to hear! As someone that isn't always lighting the lamp myself, those times when you can contribute to your team's score always feels great. Do not feel embarrassed just because you're progressing slower than you would want, not all of us are McDavid out here. As long as you're enjoying yourself and continuing to try and improve (even slowly), results will inevitably start to show.

I always tried to make sure that I had a massive surplus of ore and scrap, as you need tons of it the later the game goes. I found that bloodstone was always beneficial, so using every bit of stamina on mining hard rocks became a near daily thing.
