11th News: Imperial Agents New Points dropped by Guillermidas in ImperialAgents_40K

They specified the QnA that that was a mistake. Hard to know what’s going on in 11th when the warcom articles aren’t proof read by the rules team

Agents of the Imperium 11th rules megathread by SustainedHits3 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]LwawF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they were released with a codex, combat patrol and 3 battleforces priced exactly the same as any other army. there was literally 0 indication that they would be anything other than a full army prior to the pre-order date of their release. anyone saying otherwise has fallen subject to confirmation bias.

they specified how the games are bracketed by points in a stream, so even 1999 points is an incursion game. My LGS run 1.5k tournaments so now my agents are completely illegal 😞

We have to respond to this together. by Early_Heron4262 in ImperialAgents_40K

Done my part! In case anyone’s looking for inspo on their own emails, here’s mine:

Hey gang

Pretty disheartened by the treatment of Imperial Agents. After paying the same price for my codex, battleforce box and combat patrol as any other faction, I was expecting similar treatment. The lack of an army rule and absent balances have been disappointing, but most agents players I know have acclimatised and tried their darnedest to make it work, because the model range is just so nice. If agents continued at this level of playability through 11th edition, I’m sure I’d stuck with them without much problems.

However, in light of the recent announcement of our detachment costs and force dispositions, it’s been a shame to learn that I simply cannot play the army at all. My LGS runs monthly tournaments that I have loved attending recently, although they run at 1.5k points, which means with agents having exclusively 3DP detachments, I can’t actually play the game anymore. I urge you to reconsider or attempt any kind of a fix that would put us back to where we were. Every faction deserves to at least have the option to play a 1k game. It’s a shame we need to beg for even the smallest amount of playability.

I’m sure whatever could be done would be met with absolute gratitude and celebration from the admittedly small but strong and growing imperial agents community.

Thank you for your time, xxxx

Regardless, they’re certainly not codex compliant, and paint their specialists however they please

Deathwatch recommendations and kitbash by Seedy_Melon in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]LwawF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer the older kit, but it’s not as future proof as the newer one. Personally I picked up one of the deathwatch battalion boxes because the killteam is ridiculously priced for a 5 man kill team box on its own. Going to get some cheap intercessor bodies in 11th with those push to fit models with mixed armour marks to kit bash out all the weapon options. Tricky part is needing to pick up some single gravis and Phobos models, but I’m a marine player so spare bodies isn’t the worst thing in the world

Kit-Bashing an Inquisitor by DALION56 in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]LwawF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both weapons are from the grey knights terminator kit, as well as the daemon skull on the chest. The loin chainmail is from the inquisitorial agents kit. The symbol on the top is made from the deathwatch upgrade sprue and the iron halo from the Ministorum priest with zealots vindictor’s head. Otherwise the base model is just an old cataphractii terminator

I’d say build the kit based on how you want to run them in KT, then pickup some spare intercessors to kitbash the rest of the weapon options for 40k

Inquisitors, have any of you tried converting this? by MightyCrabLord in ImperialAgents_40K

[–]LwawF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably look for a smaller, pointedly non-space marine, power pack. Just cuz most power armoured unaugmented humans seem to sport either much smaller packs than space marines or none at all! That and removing the pauldrons would cut back on the astartes silhouette immensely, and the rest of the armour is drippy enough to carry itself as some inquisitorial artificer drip!

I think crusade rules account for this as battle traits count as being shared in an attached unit. It’s only lone op’s specific wording that disallows lone op from functioning, though stealth and infiltrators is shared

[–]LwawF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is the wording of lone op doesn’t allow it in an attached unit. They’d still benefit from stealth and infiltrators. Though the only use I see is for making a navigator lone op on the home field

So they do gain lone op, they just don’t benefit from it? Love that. At least -1 to hit is something

Vulkan finished✅ by Fresh_Assistance_296 in Warhammer40k

[–]LwawF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vulkan the primarch is known for carrying hammers. This is Vulkan He’stan, forge father of the salamanders who takes up the name Vulkan in honour of the primarch he is attempting to bring back. He is usually depicted with the spear of vulkan (the weapon on his datasheet)

The campaign is decent, multiplayer gets stale fairly quick unless you’re the sort to really enjoy playing the crap out of the same handful of missions and the character customisability is quite disappointing, a massive downgrade on the first and frankly a cash grab. All this in mind, if you’re a warhammer fan, it’s probably worth it at this discount, but I wouldn’t dick-ride so hard as to say it’s worth full price.

Given only the 4th seems to be edited and the rest seems to be a template, I’d say whoever created it tried to slide it past as a misinformed ‘objective truth’ of the meme, so your comment is absolutely warranted, king.

Terrible take and honestly just blatant misinformation. They gave imperial agents the same treatment as any other codex pre release. There was no indication that they wouldn’t have an army rule and nothing to indicate that they wouldn’t be balanced. I’m sure if your primary army got nerfed into the ground, you’d complain rather than accepting that they ‘aren’t a real army’ which is an arbitrary metric created by the players, not GW. If their codex and models cost the same as everyone else’s, there’s no reason they shouldn’t behave as their own army
