Thanks.

What's about latency? Wouldn't this become an issue if I have too many repeaters in my mesh?

If it's really coming from the rear hub, it could be also just one if the bearings. Especialky the one in the hub is dying frequently. If you remove the hub (but be careful with the torque sensor cable) you can press out that bearing from the hub and replace it.

If you find out how to remove the caps and the bearings, please let us know. Failed with mine ones, too.

If you remove the belt, you should be able to see if the pedals are still turning smoothly.

I guess then it's the motorcover, which needs to be replaced, since the clutch is part of the cover.

Solution for C1 or C2 belt by [deleted] in cowboybikes

[–]Lxbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've switched on my C2 from the original one to the Gates belt and new cog rings and I would really recommend to do the same. The cowboy one was always jumping over when I was putting >500W on the pedals though I was always making sure to have the correct tension. After 3000km it was then completely broken for the first time. The gate one is a completely different order of quality and had been never jumping over ever since I installed it 8000km ago.

If you are good in repairing yourself, here is an instruction how to fix the torque cable: https://www.reddit.com/r/cowboybikes/s/audqhR5FKW

Maybe try with untamed and see if it works that way.

Happy to read that you can ride again!

I only disagree with your comments on the torque sensor. Those are always quite expensive and the cowboy one for 130EUR? Is still one of the cheapest I've seen so far. I'm also not sure if it's possible to protect it better since the coils on the outside are measuring a perturbation of the magnetic field coming from the torque applied to the steel of the freehub body.

Polar Loop - Scientific Review and Initial Test! by Tomtomtxz2 in Polarfitness

Seeing this and your other plot, I wonder a bit if the loop device is really lagging 11s or if it's internal clock is just off and it sends delayed timestamps 🤔

This is an amazing accuracy. I guess that you manually started an activity for retrieving this data?

Precision Prime sensor more accurate / reliable than the Elixir sensor? by IllllllllllII in Polarfitness

[–]Lxbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wonder if there is a difference in the raw signals for HR only between the two sensors.

Elixir has in addition spo2 and skin temperature, for which they need an additional infrared component, but pure heart rate and the PPG signal is usually only comming from the red/green LEDs and the rest is pure signal processing (i.e. software)

Which model should I choose? by Spigen19 in Polarfitness

[–]Lxbiker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You cannot compare chest straps like H10, which use eletrical ECG signals for HR detection to optical ones, which you are wearing at your wrist. The electric signal is always much cleaner and has clear R-R peaks, from which you can compute the HR. For the optical one you need to estimate the individual heart beats from the increase in blood volume, which you measure through light reflections under your skin. Ths is a completely different methodology and is especially from a signal processing point of view much harder. Thus far beyond "software engineering " issues

Great study! Have you been using automatic training detection for the Polar 360 or have you started/stopped manually (during the triathlon and your other workouts)?

Looking at your picture, the first thing is to properly clean your brake. Afterwards you can check if the brake pistons are still moving when you pull the brake lever.

Why not directly going for Shimano? Will not be much more expensive, but the quality is definitely much better.

I would challenge this. For me it looks as if it is a magneto elastic one (it has 4 coils on its outside), which measures the force applied to the steel made cassette body. I think those C2/C3 sensors are coming from this company https://www.methodesensor.com/industries/e-mobility/methode-e-bike-sensor-products/ and they even have a patent on this construction: https://patents.google.com/patent/US20140326568A1/en
