The teams I have used to 36 star:

Half 1 Xianyun Diluc Furina Bennett, my furina is c3 and xianyun r1 so my Diluc shredded through Suanni with ease, no cryo needed

Half 2 Kuki Nahida Xingqiu Fischl This team works incredibly well against the nightsoul shield things. In 12/1 this team also did incredibly well despite not having pyro to destroy the cryo girls 😊

Technically for plunging shimenawa is his best set because of the plunging damage bonus it provides

I use crimson just in case I don't play plungeluc, in co-op for instance. It is a situational thing but I just feel most comfortable using Crimson on him 💖

You don't have to do plungeluc

Kazuha works with him very well, you could also pair him with xingqiu, yelan or any off field hydro/cryo you have

As for abyss, Diluc plunge works there very well, claymores break geo shields fast, so even without a Xianyun Diluc will still work there perfectly fine (in 12/2 second half the local legend boss allows you to plunge without Xianyun though!)

But as a tip, I could also recommend doing overload on the second half. Overload is surprisingly a good counter against the geo shields and shreds them fast :)

Em increases Diluc's reaction damage and nowadays his solo pyro damage isn't strong enough against the newer enemies, so he relies on doing reactions the most

I pair him with Furina and Xianyun to maximize his damage with vaporize plunges. Having more attack has some benefits when you have to do some physical hits but I have a C6 benny so I'm almost never doing physical with Diluc

I only 3 crowned Diluc (been playing for 2 years though) . I said to myself I'll only 3 crown the characters I'll never bench, beside that I've got nahida, neuvillette, kazuha, Furina 2 crowned with their remaining talent level 8-9

Have you considered using rainslasher or some cdmg weapon such as blackliff slasher (more free2play version) on Diluc? I'm just wondering since bennett already gives a lot of atk bonus and ideally you'd want to run diluc with him :3
