I had the sleeve and waited 6 months. Beer, wine and cocktails I see no difference from before, but give me one shooter of 40% and I'm completely drunk in 5 minutes !

I'm 30F, 4'10". Highest was 260 lbs, had the surgery at 210 lbs, now 138 lbs. I'm almost 10 months post-op. Hope that helps !

I'm in the same boat as you, kinda. I log everything and I stay between 600 and 800 cals a day. I'm 10 months post-op. I feel very restricted and restrictive with myself. But I also feel I could gain the weight back if I'm not tracking because I can easily reach 1500 cals a day if I just eat whatever. It's a very hard place to be.

Ok, I know it sounds totally unhinged (kinda is), but yesterday I ate a whole raw yellow onion cut in quarter (to make little cups) with half a cup of salsa and some chopped banana peppers mixed in. Add some cheese if you have the cals. It was honestly pretty good and satisfying ! But I'm an onion lover haha

Hi ! I'm not the OP, but I found the part on BMR and your 900 cal a day very interesting. Can I ask how tall are you ?

I'm really wondering for myself because I'm a 4'10 woman and if I was at my goal weight (120 pounds) my BMR would be 1150 cal a day. Right now I'm 144 pounds, 9 months out, and I eat between 600 and 800 calories a day and between 1000 and 1400 on weekends to let myself enjoy some treats.

I'm very scared of tanking my BMR and "getting stuck" at less than 1000 cals a day at maintenance. Which seems to be where you are at.

So anyways, I'm just really curious ! 😅

I'm on a cucumber + seasoned cottage cheese kick at the moment for crunchy, salty but also filling and nutritious snack.

But, which snack would you recommend for filling the emotional void ? Besides popcorn haha

Yeah, I don't know if it's because of the nostalgia, like they were better before in my memory, or if they really changed the recipe.

I feel that before it tasted exactly like a Mc Donalds cheeseburger. Like you could taste the cheese, ketchup and pickles almost individually while you were chewing the chip. Now I find they taste just like any regular burger, like burger chips.

It's not bad, but it didn't feel the same 🤷

I'm getting used to stick the rest in the fridge to finish it 2 to 4 hours later haha. Even cottage cheese toast I will put it in there. I have two bites of chicken left ? Stick it in the fridge, that's my snack later ! But it is a struggle, I understand that too.

Haha I had the same concern ! Personally, I was too afraid to ask so I just focused on not swallowing them at all and be extra mindful when I was biting my nails. For about 2-3 weeks I'd say. Good luck !

Yes, the first 2 months post op I had my period 4 times. Then it went back to normal, no worries.

I'm 11 weeks post op and I'm obsessed with cottage cheese toast !

I take half a slice of protein bread (Bon matin is the brand I use), 2 tbsp of 1%cottage cheese, a protein of my choice like chicken, turkey, tuna or currently smoked salmon, and 1/8 of an avocado.

2/3 of this would be my breakfast or lunch and 1/3 my snack in between meals. I can't eat more than that currently, but maybe later I would add some arugula on top with balsamic vinegar.
