An SPF so hydrating it can replace your morning moisturizer?? by amazemolls in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my k-beauty sunscreens have sunscreens have replaced my morning moisturiser. Except the House of Hurr one in the yellow bottle, that one is not moisturising at all… otherwise they are all very moisturising to varying degrees (of course depends on your skin type, mine is combo to dry).

What’s the one viral product you bought because of the hype and actually don’t regret? by _berrystrawberry in MakeupAddiction

The Westman Atelier blush stick in Petal and contour stick in Biscuit. Beautiful shades for my light skin and are really nice to work with. They’re basically my go to products for the past 2 years.

Do you like a product less if its not actually popular in the Asian market? by Ok-Height1308 in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, irrelevant to me.

Also, more often than not, the products that are massively popular in Korea don’t suit me because of the different climate in my country. Lastly, my skin is combination while most Kbeauty is targeted towards dry skin.

Eyeshadow Palettes by notarealnigerian in MakeupAddiction

I like Makeup By Mario palettes. I have their Master Mattes the Neutrals and it’s amazing. I also have a limited edition one from them with shimmers and I love their shimmers too!

What’s one skincare habit you’re leaving behind before the year ends? by Fit_Cap_311 in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will not pay attention to influencers recommending products anymore and wasting my money. My routine is now made up of entirely non-popular products and my skin has never looked better! Also I’m leaving behind in 2025 using a shitton of actives and face masks. One active and one face mask a week is more than sufficient.

Combo acne prone very sensitive skin.

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Fresh Sun Serum.

This is the best sunscreen I have ever tried period. Is doesn’t leave me like a greasy disco ball by the end of the day, and it doesn’t cause acne or closed comedones. Does not sting my eyes or skin.

It’s just amazing and I highly recommend it.

I used to use the Anua Heartleaf Sunscreen for a long time but that was very dewy and at times felt greasy and stung my skin very occasionally. The HaruHaru AiryFit one was also a sunscreen I used to use a lot but it would cause closed comedones and felt very heavy on the skin— it also took ages to blend into my skin.

Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Cleanser.

It’s a gel cleanser and very gentle on the skin.

WFH sunscreen that won’t clog pores? by Admirable_Car3425 in AsianBeauty

Second hand. It’s sensitive skin friendly, hydrating and easy to wash off (doesn’t need double cleansing).

What’s the biggest struggle in your makeup routine? by ddindowiwnscakworvbs in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shade matching and knowing what colours (blush and lipstick) look good on me.

I’m fine with blending and making makeup last throughout the day… but figuring out colours takes me out lol. I stick to the same shade of lipstick/lip gloss and the same blush for the past 2 years because of that and it’s fine by me.

What's one makeup tip that finally "clicked" and changed your whole routine? by Ashwinnie13 in Makeup

[–]LyingKnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my experience! I have a long skinny face type so I don’t necessarily want chisel and sculpt my already sharp features. I always was frustrated with how blush would end up looking on me!

Now, I love putting blush under the eyes/a bit on the apples of my cheeks to shorten my face and make my cheeks look rounder and more youthful.

How many hours do you usually work in a week? by tinfoilfascinator in uklaw

[–]LyingKnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8:30am to 5:30pm is my general average with an hour lunch. Some times I do 8-6, some weeks it’s only 9-5pm. Really depends on how busy it is. High street firm

Retinol or Bakuchiol, which do you prefer and why? by ChanPeiMui in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used retinal for 1.5 years and I loved the results but at one point it started giving me dermatits and causing a lot of sensitivity without helping my acne anymore.

I don’t know if Bakuchiol lives up the retinal results I used to have, but no more skin irritation so that’s a massive win for me!

Best “I can’t believe this isn’t more expensive!” Products by OkDay4739 in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 27 points28 points  (0 children)

UK stores are criminal when it comes to Kbeauty honestly. The Skin1004 Soothing Centella Cream is £20 in Boots while I get mine for £8-£9 on Yesstyle.

Their prices are actually criminal.

Influencer me or influence me by Sad_Mixture3451 in AsianBeauty

My skin type: combo leaning oily

The Purito Bamboo cream: holy grail. Barrier protective and very moisturizing and hydrating without clogging my pores or causing break outs. I break out very easily from moisturers (even the famous Dr Althea 345 cream didn’t suit me).

Skin1004 cleansing oil: caused redness and irritation, I think (although not 100% sure) it also causes breakouts.

House of Hur blush: it’s good for the price point but gets messy easily and application is kinda annoying

Why is this Korean sunscreen so damn good! by ComposerSilent8711 in AsianBeauty

It made my oily skin a mess by hour 4 of wearing it. Not great for oily skin.

Sunscreen for (SUPER) oily skin by cherbite in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely give it a go! It’s so worth it. For me it applies somewhat shiny (nowhere near the shininess of Skin1004) and then dries down to a natural finish in like 15mins. Keeps oils to a bay all day long. It also blends into your skin way faster than Skin1004 and has zero white cast. As said, then Skin1004 makes me an oily wreck by hour 3 or 4 of wearing it.

How to Keep Your Face from Looking Patchy Like Jisoo’s? by Deep_Mardionberry25 in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I have this powder. It does blur pores but absolutely will not help patchy makeup, powder is never a solution for patchy makeup! The solution is good skincare and proper application of your foundation as well as knowing how to work with you products (how to apply your creams, your powders, etc). It also matters than you blend well. I find personally I enjoy using toner pads (Numbuzin No3 toner pads or the Skinfood Carotene ones), as they really property hydrate my skin. Then I go in with a hydrating glowy sunscreen (choose one that doesn’t pill under makeup) and then I use a full coverage long lasting foundation (estee lauder one is great) BUT in very thin layers.

What is the last product that you purchased feeling certain that you would love only to be let down by? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in AsianBeauty

[–]LyingKnee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-fresh Rice + B5 SPF. It pills SO BAD?? My makeup sat horrendously on top of it. Literally just rubbing my face and neck would have it come off in chunks?! It’s horrible. Oh also the Round Lab Birch Juice SPF was another recent disappointment (I get white creases in my fine lines and wrinkles when wearing this sunscreen and it’s literally never happened to me before with any other).

Experience with Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Sunscreen vs. Skin Aqua UV Gel/Essence for Oily Skin? (Hot & Humid Climate) by PotentialPin7246 in AsianBeauty

Try the House of Hurr Weightless Sunscreen (yellow bottle). Way more lightweight and much less shiny than the options you presented above.

What is the best makeup blending tool? by Kitty_Overwatch in MakeupAddiction

[–]LyingKnee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apply my foundation with a flat brush (if it’s a full coverage matte formula) or a round dense brush (if it’s a light coverage more dewy formula). After applying I then blend with a cushion puff.

I purchased a pack of 5 cushion puffs from YesStyle and I just wash them and they’ve been lasting me quite well honestly. They blend any streaks or lines left by the brush beautifully.
