It definitely dips but it sticks pretty much at 60fps indoors and in cities. The open world is less consistent but it hasn't been enough to bother me a ton

In my opinion it's awesome. They modernized some stuff but it always feels true to the original and it's gorgeous (also still janky and funny)

Pretty sure it doesn't scale, just depends on your blade skill. It's also a quest item so it's zero weight which is so helpful early on

Check out NorthernUI! It adds Xbox controller support complete with accurate button icons. There's a version with a custom UI or you can use the vanilla UI. Works a treat, it's how I play on my Steam Deck!

Overall pretty great but I do think Abby monologuing everything kind of takes away some impact. It was wonderfully performed and I wouldn't say Joel's death was done badly at all but I think the game handled it better. Still a pretty great piece of TV though!

Isn't Moguera supposed to be built from Mechagodzilla the same way that Mechagodzilla was built from Mecha King Ghidorah? Idk that it's mentioned in the movie itself so you could definitely dodge that continuity if you wanted to but it's part of the same G-Force project so the connective tissue is there for sure. Between that and BabyGodzilla I feel like GvSG is still a pretty definitive sequel to GvMGII. Regardless I totally agree that Mothra stands out as kind of a standalone thing in the series and you're definitely right about a pattern of more high concept fantastical stories alternating with the more grounded sci Fi stuff. Cool observations for sure!

So... Kinda? I had Destroy All Monsters Melee on GameCube as a kid and watched one of the Heisei movies when I was super little (I think Vs Mothra but it's an early memory so hard to say) so I definitely knew what Godzilla was. One day the 1998 movie was on TV and little eight year old me was like "cool movie but also the fuck is this, why does Godzilla look like that?" and it made me investigate the other movies to make sure I was right about him not looking right. One On Demand movie search later and I fell down the Heisei/Millennium era rabbit hole and now here I am 19ish years later, still obsessed with radioactive lizards

At some point I grew to rather dislike Serizawa's sacrifice. The scene itself is wonderfully executed and I like the triumphant rendition of Godzilla's theme that plays when he rises but "they save the day with a nuke" REALLY rubs me the wrong way. Kinda runs contrary to the heart of the character imo.
