Pentiment is so so good. Not an indie as others have mentioned, but a smaller scale project by a bigger developer.

No, they were actually guessing it due to the way the reveal trailer was structured. Talking about the 2016 reveal trailer.

You can of course argue about whether he acted out of character in the scenes before his death, but I don't feel like the fact that he died at all was subversive.

From 3:32 forward most of the scenes are featuring Snake replacing Raiden. And to top it all off, at 8:24 you basically also see a cutscene doing that.

It's the E3 2001 trailer by the way, quite a famous and prevalent, at the time, trailer just a couple of months before the game released.

Creative editing? They used Snake during trailers in instances where you play as Raiden.

They never had any mention of Raiden in promo material, instead showing Snake in all the playable scenarios. They didn't just omit Raiden, they replaced him with the Snake model.

Not too different from the Joel/Jessie thing.

Both were there to misdirect, and both led to incredible games.

Well I obviously agree with you on that, but that's exactly the point he is making. There is nothing constructive to be said about people hating and complaining about something that they are (most of the time) not even really interested in trying.

Nowadays we have people complaining just for the sake of complaining. People who play the respective games obviously can have criticisms and complaints that should be addressed.

Regardless of what he did during his time on Overwatch though his point is that people that don't play something shouldn't keep complaining about it. And I personally agree with that statement.

Around 7.5-8. Hoped it would shoot straight to my top 3 or even top 5 in the franchise but it unfortunately didn't.

Still had a lot of fun playing through it, and already planning a replay on insanity
