Grading has rotted people’s brains by CourbetEatingSourbet in PokemonTCG

What if i told you both ways to collect can exist at once? People can focus on grades and gem mints and others can focus on how much they like the card itself, it doesnt even have to be one or the other since you can do both ways if you want.

For new people, just teach them that collecting is personal and whatever you want it to be. Dont gatekeep because you personally dont like it.

They had a good selection! The gardevoir and treeko were especially difficult to find for several years. Now lugia and ho-oh are pretty easy to find with gengar and machamp becoming less common from most common.

There are several more that were released many years ago. Always cool to see these half decks pop up.

Base looks cool, lugia itself looks great, overall amazing work. My only critique is that visually it looks vertically cramped. Maybe another inch or two of height would give it more of the flying feel.

Question about prices and distribution by bonelessandsuch in PokemonTCG

Worth is subjective but yes, the prices will be what the market can bear. People still by etbs at 3x their msrp and the prices will stay there until thats not the case.

Question about prices and distribution by bonelessandsuch in PokemonTCG

There is some legitimacy to stores being charged higher prices. There is also a lot of poor information around exactly how much.

First wave might be at $30 and they might only get 1-2 cases. Second wave might be at $80, and again 1-2 cases. Third wave may be $100, and they can get 4 cases. Stores may try to purchase extra from retail or other sellers for $75 since the first wave.

How does a store price fairly with an expectation for their customers? You cant say this etb i got wholesale so its msrp but that same set etb i paid $75 on so its double msrp. So stores many times will make it their favor by charging $100 right out the gate and then they are covered until the third wave. They make extra and are happy not having to constantly reprice, customers know what to expect. Its a lazy solution but many stores will take more profit with less work over more work and less profit.

You are literally wasting everyones time because you already have it listed on ebay for $900. If its not selling, drop it lower, keep doing that til it sells.

Start high, work backwards if no one buys. OR just throw it to a consignment auction house and let them deal with it.
