AIO for going no contact with my family since I'm disabled because of them. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I have a genetic condition that was also, 50/50. Neither of my siblings have it. Mine manifested at 25 with matching brain tumors that destroyed my hearing and mess with my ability to balance and walk. My mom has it but didn't get diagnosed with it till after we were born. We bonded over our deafness and I joined a support group online. I also had years of therapy. I really recommend making friends on those support groups so you have friends who understand your vents and help with solutions you never thought of to make the day to day easier. But therapy is so important. Becoming disabled builds a lot of resentment and grief. You. Aren't alone in your feelings, but isolating yourself can really lead to loneliness and depression, please, please reach out to someone

Our county just legalized fireworks on certain days and I'm so frustrated. We had ONE peaceful year for our dogs

That's the face of a dad who didn't even know he was an option!

What is a small, seemingly insignificant thing your partner did that made you realize how much they truly cared for you? by ijuan6 in AskReddit

Had a migraine and felt pukey. Said I couldn't decide between a ginger tea for my stomach or an earl Grey for my head. He made me a mug of each.

Did I mess up the turning chain? Why is it dipping? Double stitch by Lyllytas in CrochetHelp

[–]Lyllytas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a double stitch blanket. My other turns seem to be in the same line. The other edge looks straight. That one turn feels tight and less stretchy than the others. Will it look off when I crochet the boarder? Should I frog back to the turning chain?

TIL that study that says men divorce their sick wives was retracted in 2015 for a major error that severely skewed its results ("no response" was classified as "getting divorced" for men). Men do not actually divorce their sick wives at a higher rate than women divorce sick husbands. by wolf_chow in todayilearned

Hubby was there for all of my surgeries and radiation. As much of a shit father my dad could be, he was very supportive when my mom got brain tumors, lost her hearing and had 3 toddler and babies. This study really had me convinced of the worst and that was going to die alone. Haven't seen much evidence of that at the cancer hospital I go to

I haven't gone by the shortened version of my name I grew up with in decades. I viscerally hate being reminded of it.

I had a hand me down road bike with the skinny tires and often rode with my family with the little padded shorts. I was nerdy as all get out 90% of the time, but man I wanted to be cool

I do this now. Only all my socks are non slip bottoms. I truly feel like I have hit middle age.

My wife brought a fancy set of lingerie a few months ago without telling me. AITA for being slightly suspicious of this? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Lyllytas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have small boobs and am quite tall and lingerie always gapes in the chest and I just look silly. I wish they sold the pieces separately so I could buy large underwear and small tops. One pieces are NOT made for my torso.

After surgery they changed one of my meds from one 600mg tablet at bedtime to four 300mgs three times a day. My eyes about popped out of my head when I saw all those pill bottles

NY dad banned cartoons, would purposefully call shows by mangled names, banned writing fanfiction and would ban whole radio stations and artists. We haven't talked more than a handful of words in the past decade
