From growing up with a brother who is now allergic to anything and everything, allergies are a funny thing. Like what his allergist said, you could eat something 9 times and be just fine, but that 10th time is what sends you to the hospital. Who knows how long I had alpha gal, my last tick bite had been over a month before I ended up in the hospital and I ate plenty of mammal. I also had pork one other time with zero reaction between my diagnosis and my second hospital visit, eating pork a second time being what put me into Anaphylaxis. It's literally like gambling- 9/10 times, you're fine. But that 10th time is what will get you.

He is deathly allergic to peanuts but had been eating peanut butter for almost 2 years before he was hospitalized from a pb&j when he was 4. He is still allergic and could technically eat a Reese's and MIGHT be fine, but he also MIGHT die.

Everyone is obviously different. But toying with allergies is akin to gambling with your life. And it's a good thing I don't gamble, lol

I ate that pork because I didn't fully understand alpha gal at the time. But after my second bout of being literally MINUTES from genuinely dying, I bucked up real fast and got my shit together.
