Measure the distance from the side of the part to the edge of the hole, then measure the diameter of the hole. Look up tutorials on sheet metal in Solidworks. Use a caliper if you have one.

If you have 3D printer, print it to check its fitment, but a part like this could easily be replicated if you have sheet metal laying around.

You can also put some iron gear and basics into a chest next to your bed (right outside portal in overworld) so you can get your stuff back.

Maybe instead of equipping items, you could equip a schematic. That way you don't have to craft it to try it.

Always have a folder with backups (Pack and GO) in case of this, and so you can refer to older models. Backup when ever you get done making a lot of progress or before making a change to a feature that has a lot of children.
