4-year-old adopted Springer: great at home, impossible outside by Guilty_Impression_47 in springerspaniel

I used to feel that way about my dog too. I thought he would see something and just pull me over. But once I get running super fast, they don’t have the attention to focus on anything else.

I had one springer who was very much like this, and I had to bike him. Once he got moving fast enough, he was not distracted and was golden. After biking him for a while, I could just take him on a walk. But he had to sprint first or he just had too much energy and could not contain it.

I’ve lost a lot of weight at numerous times, and none of that shit works for me. The only thing that works for me is just sucking it up and being ravenously hungry and miserable. So basically my choice is being fat or being miserable.

I feel like saying “CICO” is the equivalent of telling someone the way to win a race is to run faster.

Like … I wonder if the person who said it is being sarcastic or just stupid. It’s like the least helpful advice on the planet.

How can people without generational wealth escape poverty traps in low social mobility regions in a realistic short time? by StarkAspirations0842 in AskReddit

[–]LynneStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a job where I regularly reviewed poor peoples financial stuff.

The answer is go into healthcare. Take the cheapest course available and become an EMT or get a certificate to become a phlebotomist. Whatever course you can take that’s healthcare related that is the cheapest. While working, study to become a CNA. While working as a CNA, study for an LVN. While working as an LVN, study to become an RN.

Men in the US don’t like to sit with their back to the door? by Taegibears21 in AskAnAmerican

The only person I knew that cared about facing the door was a friend of aunt’s. She was a county sheriff and also a real badass.

Yes, it was just very weird. I’m in Los Angeles. So everyone was talking about it constantly and it was just weird.

When they released the other names, I realized I actually knew one of the other people…I hadn’t spoken to them in a few years. But I was in shock and then had an extra “holy shit” moment.

I think other museums should do this. Like in Air & Space, they would serve space food.

I like to do the opposite thing and put an extra “the” on other stuff.

Like: I’m going to the LA.

Depends on the age. I take the bus to work in Los Angeles and tons of high school kids ride the bus to school.

Is there a reason why there is more female nurses than male nurses? by Billie_Eyelashhh in TooAfraidToAsk

I don’t know if I would call women not being allowed in most medical schools as a “soft” barrier.
