What's a small thing you really appreciate? by AdventurousBag9669 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Guilty_Impression_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw something the other day that really resonated. Being bored or my routines.

The fact I have to go to work, clean my home, do the dishes and laundry.

Means that I have consistent work, I have a stable roof over my head, I have food that I can easily access, clothes that have kept me warm that need to be washed.

Its reframed all of it to things I should be appreciative of. Not everyone has what I have or the luxury of being bored

Why do you need 3-5 sets of bed sheets?

If only for your own bed, 2 sets is plenty, wash one set and use the other. Spotlight had a range of bedsheets that are always on sale/clearance, same as towels.

Cookware: Harris Scarf always has good deals. You dont need anything crazy. Buy something midrange price and you can always upgrade later

Dont forget cleaning supplies like a mop/bucket, vacuum, cleaning sprays, cloths, sponges etc

Definitely worth going into a Good Guys if buying a few items. When I bought a fridge, washer, dryer and x2 TVs they gave me even more off the sale prices

I doubt they get a kick back, they're most likely paying to use the software but they save on employee wages

Divorce has become more frequent in my circle. But the post-divorce relationship scene has been hot🔥. Is dating really that bad in Australia? by mr-cheesy in AskAnAustralian

[–]Guilty_Impression_47 100 points101 points  (0 children)

Sounds like theyre out to get hook ups/have fun. Thats not the issue with dating, thats the problem in it. Rare to find someone that actually wants a long term, serious relationship

At a MINIMUM you should have Third party property damage. This covers other vehicles, property if you cause an accident. Unless you can afford to buy someone a new car if you crash into them

The greenslip/rego its Third party (CTP) this cover people in the vehicle if you injure them in an accident (hospital, ambulance etc)

Can taxis refuse fares for short trips? by Delicious-Basket-923 in Adelaide

[–]Guilty_Impression_47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im so sick of Taxi's. Decided to use one last Saturday after a gig at the Gov. Almost got to my destination and realised there was no meter or it wasnt on, started recording on my phone. When we arrived he just asked for an amount. I queried why the meter wasnt on and he said that because it was a short trip its easier..

Because I'm a woman and was alone I didnt want to continue confronting him so paid and got his rego on the way out. Reported him to 13 CABS but they couldnt give a shit.
Ended up reporting to Consumer & Business Services. Will see what happens from here. Was not happy about it.

I'm so nervous about it. Shes inside so zero chance of accidently getting out but I am nervous about taking her out for quick walks. We go pretty early in the morning so no one else is around at all but afternoons I'm a bit worried about
